For me, it was hard to go past Torres even though Masch was a monster all season. 31 goals from 38 or 39 starts aswell as 4 or 5 assists while playing as a lone striker for most of the season in his 1st season in the premier league, as well as creating one of the most formidable partnerships in world football with Stevie. He has also scored in all sorts of ways and styles...headers, on the turn, breaking offside trap, long distance shots etc...what a champ
You have to say Fernando. So many goals and many of them outstanding! I give the nod to Torres, but Mascherano and Gerrard also played well this season.
I'd also love to vote for Masch, as he has been immense and the unsung hero really, but it would be a robbery for it not to go to Torres. Imagine how this season would have been without Fernando.
LOL- In any awards this year Torres will be like the movie Titanic. The only thing he won't win is best performance by a Female! Or in this case- best defender!
And CCSC- did you have to put such a big crest up there- am I the only one to shiver and get perturbed every time I see that on our boards!

while there might be a slight argument for the Captain -- there is only one choice: He came from Spain he gets the ball he score's again Fernando Torres Liverpool's number 9
1. Torres 2. Masch. You saw the games that he didn't play in - people ran riot in the middle. 3. Stevie - disappeared in some big games. Saved us in some others. 4. Reina - The Defense in front of him wasn't the same - but he kept us in a lot of games.
I'd go with Sami over Reina but other than that looks good to me, with a big gap between 2, 3. Torres and Masch both have been brilliant all season.
