That's what I think as well. But no one mentioned Yldiray (spell ?) of Heerenveen. He won the Free Kick tournament this year.. and there were mnay big names present as well.

The figure may be lower. But Pirlo's scored 3 for Italy, and, as
I recall, 3 in the Champions League. This season alone he's hit
5 for Milan, so that's 11 free-kick goals. Now go back to last
season and then back further to his Brescia days and I'm fairly
confident you'll find a bunch more.

In any event, this is a very high number. Serie A goal-keepers
tend to be pretty good, and if you're looking for players who've
notched more than 15 goals off free-kicks in Italy you're talking
about players like Baggio, Maradona, Platini, and Mijailovic (not
spelled correctly--argh). I'll see what I can find and post it here.

    ;)

Be carefull with what you say... People said the same thing about Ronaldinho when he first got to PSG.
Robinho already has something that cannot be taught, magical skills with the ball, ginga, improvisational skills...now, building up his body and learning tactics well he is an excelent prospect.

blah blah blah, robinho is going on the bench once cassano comes to real, and if you think robinho is better than cassano then you must be smoking something, 0 goals in 6 champions league games and 4 goals in league play is quite disapointing

Cassano is 23. (Born July, 1982.)

But let's get back to comparing Pirlo and Juninho and see if
we can't look objectively at the matter.

You two ought to pm each other about Cassano versus Robinho.

Please, how can we compare Juninho to Pirlo??

    - Juninho - 3 times French Champion. Going to 4th tittle in a row. Best player of the French League for 2 years. World Champion.

    - Pirlo - well...nothing to say!!

We're not, strictly speaking, here to compare them as players,
    but as free-kick takers.

If you really want to talk about trophies though, Pirlo is a bit
more accomplished. Two Champions League finals, one Champions
League trophy, a scudetto, a Coppa Italia trophy, a bronze at
the Olympics, and he carried Italy's U-21 team on his back to
win that trophy some years back. Having said that, Lyon is an
excellent team and Juninho has done great things for them.
