Came across an old pipe in a drawer the other day, and so I stopped by a tobaccanist yesterday. Haven't smoked in years, so I had forgotten what exactly I liked, other than the typical cavendishes.

So I had the guy recommend one, and then I'll make my way through some of the other flavors. Endedup settling on 4oz of something called "Golden." Next time I'm in, I'll have to memorize exactly what's in it.

What are some of your favorites?
And if I wanted to replace my old pipe, how little can I spend to still get a decent smoke? Especially if I'm never going to be much more than a once/week smoker?

I have good luck with "estate" pipes -- used pipes with a new bit. You can get a good one for $40 or so, and they're already broken in so they smoke well right from the start.

I can't smoke anything but cavendishes, everything else burns my tongue. So sorry, can't help you with exotic tobaccos.

I smoked a pipe for a few years and Golden was my tobacco of choice.

I have a handblown glass pipe and a nice water pipe.

I smoked a pipe for about six months. Then I realized, hey, I'm 18, I must look like a real ponce.
