Your semantics are off (volunteers usually don't get paid), but I agree with your sentiments 100%. How are we going to know how stupid we are without you, Kenn?
VSI has jerseys for sale on their site...designed by Admiral (blast from the past...dont see those guys too often...)
http://www.azkicksit.com/phoenix-fc-sign-elliot-weber/ Phoenix FC may have signed Eliot Weber brother of Andrew Weber (former Sounder, current RSL).
That's good. I expect Phoenix to have it together this season. They may not have a great team, being an expansion club, but they look like they are well organized. Now if they can just get some media love ... - Mark
Shouldn't blame the media...Local paper has one reporter who has done a pretty good job covering them on his blog while splitting time on HS sports, boxing, MMA, UFC...but Wolves have done NOTHING...its all been word of mouth which might be good for a restaurant, but...
Ok...lets put to rest this Nike BS...it would appear that shirts are being sponsored by several different suppliers...out of 13 teams...2 are using Lotto; 2 are using Admiral; 1 is using Adidas (I could only wish for the Wolves); 2 are for Nike; and the rest are big ??????...
I'm not blaming the local paper. I've seen some articles, so that's great. But all teams need media love, and I mean TV and radio. Even if it's just the local TV sports report on the news giving a scoreline, some highlights maybe, mention of the team, on the air, that's what we need. (Portland Timbers get good media coverage, even when they were USL-D1. San José Earthquakes haven't gotten good media coverage, ever. So I get that every market is different.) And yes, it's the Wolves job to get out and promote the team. They need to schmooze the media. - Mark
Apparently, Phoenix FC is looking for cannon fodder to help build confidence. There was an announcement looking for teams that want to play Phoenix FC in the newsletter from one of the soccer leagues I play in last week. I'd love to get out there and help the guys get ready for the season, but I think they'd run us off the field, especially in the second half when legs start to tire. I guess that's the point though. I finally took the plunge and put down my deposit on season tickets. I'd feel a lot better about it if I knew how much the tickets were going to cost. I can't wait to go pick out my seats though.
The prices range from $119 total to $399 total. The fee on the tickets is $30.50, that's absolutely the highest fee I have seen on a ticket for any event.
The 399/119 includes the deposit, but not the service fee from what I understand. So if you buy the $399 seats, expect to pay $429.50 total.
It is my understanding that the price points listed do not include the deposit. I am 100% sure they do not include the service fees.
WTF indeed. I am trying to not be negative about the ticket situation, but it is really hard not to be when I hear stuff like that. They better put a great product on the field with these prices.
Are most of the seats sold already? It looks like there are very few left; VIP, supporters, no alcohol and front row is pretty much the only thing left. I might be wrong, but that's what the tix site shows. That's impressive... if that's the case. I'm glad I got mine already
To be fair the FO are dumping a lot of money into this, so I can understand it. But their pricing structure is not good.
