One bit of consistent quality thru many years of dreck. Did not realize he came from Connecticut to call every game. Okay, have to admit it...Nik Sak got one thing right. JP definitely needs to be Ring of Honor.
Nice write up on our MLS Cup chances. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/unde...phia-union-s-best-team-is-an-mls-cup-favorite

Interview with Sporting Director Ernst Tanner: https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/meet...hind-philadelphia-union-s-ascent-to-mls-elite
The Union are a topic of discussion on both WIP and the Fanatic this morning. Mind you, this is at the same time that the biggest story in town—the Phillies—just did the same thing in the World Series. The Union have joined the pantheon of Philly sports heartbreaks™. Casual sports fans were watching that game, whether folks I talked with in church yesterday morning or sports talk radio hosts in the city. It was one of the best MLS games to actually watch, but ended in a quintessentially Philly way. I think the Union have officially graduated into the Philadelphia sports biosphere.
Well said. I particularly liked this excerpt. Sums up my feelings after a really great (and disappointing) game
It was not just that game. It was the whole season. We got to watch the Union play some really good soccer. The games where they scored so many goals at home that I was getting tired of standing up to DOOP. Just kidding I never get tired of that. It was a fantastic season with a huge letdown at the end. I will always be thankful that we had the 2022 season.
Yessir, and every one of us would sign up for more of the same. It's been a blast being a fan of this team these last few years, and our time will come. We'll get that Cup
Some good stuff in here: https://unionsoccerblog.substack.com/p/ernst-tanner-speaks-on-2023-philadelphia Give Joe Tansey's blog a follow. Lots of other articles on there too.

An interview with Team President Tim McDermott: https://www.brotherlygame.com/2023/...iladelphia-sports-writers-association-banquet Status of ticket sales, capitalizing on MLS Cup run and World Cup bid “Right now I can tell you the tickets are flying. Like, that’s, that’s been amazing. We will be sold out every single game this year. So we are at a high water mark for season tickets. We’re gonna be approaching 14,000 season tickets, or what we call FSCs, which is a combination of seasons and Parsons. It’s kinda a way to look at it. That’s the most we’ve ever had by far. And so I think we’re now getting to a point where, (in the) not too distant future, we could be saying, ‘wow, we actually could create a waiting list’.
If you really want to expand it, the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL lose in the championship game last summer (July) to kick off the streak. But that is a Philadelphia team in name only since they the league just played all the games in Birmingham, AL.
