The Union announce that they’ll unveil their new stadium sponsor’s name next Tuesday at 10 a.m., and Don Garber will be in town for the occasion.— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) February 14, 2020 The Union also say that they’ll “outline a list of stadium upgrades that will coincide with the new partnership that will be in place before the home opener.”— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) February 14, 2020
Perhaps the upgrades will include sufficient staffing at the beer carts that is properly trained in pouring beers from taps and changing kegs.
Perhaps Vanguard? Possibly sponsoring the Stadium, but also a league deal to handle the players 401K's? It would have to be a substantial partnership to have Garber in attendance.
I think they make the most sense. I'm guessing Amazon. Everyone make a guess and don't take someone else's guess and we will all rep whomever wins or rep no one if nobody wins.
I kind of hope this is it, as it would drive all of the anti-Bimbo "fans" into a frenzy! Wonder how many would drop their season tickets, or flat out refuse to buy tickets to games? The PSP comments section would require popcorn while reading. That said, it would be surprising. One would think they'd have announced a stadium naming deal alongside the Jersey sponsorship extension.
Truist Financial. BB&T and SunTrust merged in December and changed their name. They both have a history of stadium sponsorships, though none local, so it's not a new concept for the new company, and they'll want to get their new name out. Plus the Phillies and Eagles both play in financial/bank-named stadiums, which isn't really relevant but feels like it should be.
Was/is NBC Sports interested in the MLS? Currently known as Talen Energy Stadium wouldn't be a bad hub for them. - not changing my guess tho.
We were all wrong. I for one welcome our new 4 wheel drive all the time overlords. https://www.philadelphiaunion.com/welcome-subaru-park
From the Union website article discussing the new partnership: New Parking Lots: Three new parking lots have been acquired by the Union during the off-season, providing more parking and improved ingress and egress for ticket holders. In addition, there will be more than 30 reserved spaces in Lot B, free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis for fans who are Subaru owners. But will they be paved spots?
The "new" lots are the existing lots closest to the stadium that were under private ownership last season.
Looks like we’ll be getting the tv deal info soon. I’m hoping the “and more” is no blackouts on ESPN+. You know what they say about good things...😉#DOOP | #MLSisBack https://t.co/ZFBL4yuK65— Philadelphia Union (@PhilaUnion) February 26, 2020 There is a tv deal...and more— Tim McDermott (@TimMcDermott6) February 26, 2020
I'm hoping the ...and more, is a potential pre- and post-game radio show. It would give the team a more "major league" feel. I would love to listen to a post-game show with coverage of Curtin's presser, a recap, and interviews with players. It would make the drive home complete. I've always enjoyed this when driving home from football and baseball games.
I agree but I also feel like if it was just union specific it would end up as dry as the current pre/post stuff they have been doing on tv. It would be nice to have something league wide that just rolled thru everything while some old hacks shared funny banter and/or took calls in between.
