Once again, New York fans are taking over the depressed industrial sprawl that is Chester, Pennsylvania. On April 9th, our beloved club will take on the irrelevant Union to the south, and we have acquired a respectable (if slightly small) allocation of tickets for our fans to purchase. If you went on the trip last year, you’ll remember our fans were kept completely separated from theirs throughout the event, we had our own concession area, and we even had the mounted police escort us into the stadium (they really just wanted to see Henry). We expect a similar procedure this year, and with that in mind lets get down to the information. 1) All tickets are $21.00 ($20.00 + $1.00 Paypal fee) and will be sold via paypal link only at http://www.empiresupportersclub.com/...19/philly2011/ 2) Tickets will be sold on a first come – first served basis, and we will sell tickets until March 13th or the allocation is sold out, whichever comes first (we fully expect the sellout first). This sale is for MATCH TICKETS ONLY. BUS TRIP TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT A LATER DATE, AFTER THE TICKET SALES PORTION HAS ENDED. 3) We have an allocation of 450 tickets in Section 132, just like last year. 4) All New York fans are welcome to purchase tickets (you do not need to be a member of any supporters club), but this section will be treated as a standing and singing section. If you have a disability or are limited in your mobility, please notify us when you purchase. 5) Ticket pickup will be arranged once we have the tickets in hand. Expect to have multiple opportunities prior to the day of game to pick up your tickets. TICKETS WILL NOT BE MAILED, we would be losing a good chunk of cash on postage in addition to the obvious threat of the USPS losing them. 6) Bus details are currently being worked on. We have contacted the FO to see what their thoughts are, but fully expect bus transit as we head down there. ESC members will get priority on any bus organized by the ESC itself. With cheap ticket prices, plenty of notice, and a Saturday game....we expect the sale of these tickets to go very quickly. Make sure you get your tickets early, don’t hold off until right before the end of the sale and you will definitely get seats to the game. As far as we know, these are the only tickets being made available to NY fans and we do not expect the allocation to increase any further than this. Once these seats are sold, you’re on your own to find tickets. Expect their security to be somewhat heavy handed when it comes to dealing with any issues. As usual, make sure to keep yourself out of bad situations and do not go looking for a fight or altercation. Enjoy the trip, enjoy the drinks and enjoy watching our club beat the crap out of the Union. We will have parking details as we get closer to the event, so keep an eye out for any further updates.
We are no longer selling tickets for the Philly game. However you can still purchase them through the Union. Face Value is $40. We are getting a $30 rate, plus per ticket fees and shipping. http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/promo Promo Code: RBNY As of last count, we're right around 400..only a few left through the promo.
If you want to save yourself some $$$, street parking in chester is free and easy in/out. If you parallel park on the Industrial Hwy (the main road past the stadium), the area is plenty well lit and there's enough of a police presence in the area that I parked there all season without incident. /of course I also drive a consistently dirty Malibu with a busted hubcap, so take that as you will.
Hey guys quick question- I went through the link above and bought tickets through the Union at the discounted rate. I am a Red Bulls season ticket holder and I'm bringing a group of 10 to the game in Philly, but I was only able to buy 9 tickets in 132. I called their ticket reps and was told that 132 and 133 are completely sold out so no luck in getting 1 more ticket there. Now, I know 132 is gonna be just like 101 with the lack of sitting and general admission, but if I buy that extra ticket in another section is it easy to bring another person in or do they really enforce the tickets at PPL? I'd really hate to have 9 people in my group in 132 and 1 person having to sit somewhere else.
If it's anything like last year, the RB fans were totally separated from the rest of the stadium except for the philly fans with season tickets in 132-33... Separate entrance, separate concessions, separate restrooms... If you get a ticket in another section, getting in is going to be difficult. your best bet is to try to find someone else in the traveling group with an extra ticket.
Thanks for the heads up. Any fellow traveling supporters have an extra ticket they'd be willing to sell?
I am a Philadelphia Union season ticket holder who will not be in town for Union vs Red Bulls on Sat 4/9/11. I put our Union V red Bulls tickets up for auction (sale ends 4/4/11) starting at $50 a seat ($40 face value) on The Philadelphia Union Ticket Marketplace, which can be accessed via The Philadelphia Union website. http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/content/union-ticket-marketplace The team itself handles all aspects of the sale, so you can be assured these are legit. The Item number is 152463. You will not find two tickets any closer to the field or the Red Bull Bench. Our seats are in section 109 Row D Seats 1 & 2, on the aisles next to 108 & The opponents bench. Great place for pregame autographs and pictures. Since we sit in a family section & not the supporters section, you shouldn't expect too much harrassment from Us Philly fans. Great place for a Dad/Mom & Son/Daughter. You'll never get closer to the field & the Red Bulls warming up than this.
Hey man, (un)fortunately you grabbed the last 9...the allocation is sold out. My suggestion would be to see if theres anything on stub hub, and if not..post over on metrofanatic.com...there's way more traffic to that site, and it's only New York fans who post there.
Very cool thanks for the info...Sucks there wasn't one more ticket but good news that we'll have a pretty good presence there
I have an extra ticket for the away match vs. Philly. Red Bulls fan section 132, row M. I'm selling it for what I paid, which is below face value: $35. PM me, if you are interested. Edit: Ticket sold. Thanks.
My tickets in section 109/D/1&2 went to a cpl in Delaware for $10.50 above face value... I'm such a bastard scalper, now go look at the tickets which are left and the asking price... You will notice the price (twice face value) and comments are all same indicating they are from an ticketing agency who bought those seats to sell for only profit.. I could have continued my auction up to 4/9, I could have started it $25 over face value but I didn't. Instead I cut it off on 4/4, 3 days. I wasn't looking to make a killing. I was looking forward to making someone with a child's day. The chance to take a close up picture of Thierry Henry from 5 feet away.. I gave half my tickets away last year, just to help the club make new lifelong soccer fans.. I'm a fan who loves the game, more than just my team!
Well I couldn't get anything close to the away supporters section, but I finally get to go to another Red Bulls game. I miss having those season tix. I'll be in section 114. Anyone taking SEPTA to the game?
To call SEPTA convenient would be a bit of an overstatement, but it's certainly doable. Just make sure you check the train schedule so you know when to leave the stadium since some trains come by shortly after the final whistle, and aren't very frequent.
(Not here to troll) You guys brought a pretty impressive 450 fans to Philly. I can't find your DC thread, but I imagine there's even more availability for tix there. The ESC guy on Extratime radio said the rivalry with DC is pretty intense. How many of you guys are travelling to RFK next week? Just curious.
Game is on a weekday so I bet it will cut the numbers of folks who can travel - and it's a long ride. Philly is pretty easy trip.
