    *sniff*

Someday, children will study this speech in schools.

Stark - this great man, this HERO - is getting some stick in some quarters for being uncivil. I say ******** civility.

If there was a time for civility, it is over.

Yet somehow, the Republicans are the victims here. Poor, poor Republicans, clean as the driven snow, being persecuted by a looney congressman from California. :(

Stark should look up the meaning of illegal.

I mean do you guys really think that GWB beats off to the thought of sick children and dead soldiers? Come on.

No, like 99% of all politicians, his empathy only reaches as far as his own little inner circle.

But I wouldn't go as far as saying he derives pleasure from their suffering.

Would you really be surprised if it turned out that Dick Cheney did exactly that?

Naw, he doesn't think about them at all.

BTW, Stark is the most senior US politician to publicly state he is an athiest.

    Cicero?

    That's a bit of a stretch, I think.

It's shocking that this is causing any stir at all. The friggin democrats should be firing off on the failed (and ridiculously expensive) policies of the republicans every chance they get.

He doesn't beat off. That's what Laura's mouth and Condi's ******** are for. Thinking of that stuff is just foreplay for him.

So when the Right Wing Goon squad came after him, what was Stark's reply?

“I have nothing but respect for our brave men and women in uniform and wish them the very best; but I respect neither the Commander-in-Chief who keeps them in harms way nor the chickenhawks in Congress who vote to deny children health care.”

    Rep to that man!

I no longer use the word 'atheist' because to do so confers legitimacy on theism. I now say realist.

Stark should apologize once our non-partisan Prez'nit apologizes for this disgusting display from the 2006 campaign. And no, it wasn't taken from "1984":

PRESIDENT: If anybody has any doubts about the differences of opinion in Washington, D.C. between Republicans and Democrats, I want them to analyze the recent votes that took place on these important programs. When it came time to renew the Patriot Act, more than 75 percent of the House Democrats voted against it.

    AUDIENCE: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: When it came time to vote on whether or not to allow the CIA to continue its program to detain and question captured terrorists, more than 80 percent of House Democrats voted against it.

    AUDIENCE: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: When it came time to vote on whether the National Security Agency should continue to monitor communications that we think would be -- contain information that would protect you, more than 90 percent of the House Democrats voted against it.

    AUDIENCE: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: In all these vital measures for fighting a war on terror, the Democrats in Washington follow a simple philosophy: Just say no. (Laughter.) When it comes to listening in on the terrorists, what's the Democrats' answer?

    AUDIENCE: Just say no!

THE PRESIDENT: Just say no. When it comes to detaining terrorists, what's the Democrat's answer?

    AUDIENCE: Just say no!

THE PRESIDENT: When it comes to questioning terrorists, what's the Democrat's answer?

    AUDIENCE: Just say no!

THE PRESIDENT: When it comes to trying terrorists, what's the Democrat's answer?

    AUDIENCE: Just say no!

THE PRESIDENT: And so when the Democrats ask for your vote on November 7th, what's your answer?

    AUDIENCE: Just say no! (Applause.)
