According to the Soccer Insider, Peralta left camp for personal reasons. I'm not nosy enough to want to know what these reasons are, but I am hoping that this means he'll be back.

Are "personal reasons" sometimes a euphemism for leaving the team?

This must be it. If you google Peralta, Gonzalo Peralta come on page 8.

Come on internet nuts. This is just wrong.

Hey! I know! Let's start up a whole bunch of ungrounded speculation! I'll go first:

He left because he got bit by a rabid attack-dog and he has to go in for rabies treatment, except it's not normal rabies it's a special germ warfare version developed in secret by the army so he has to go to Fort Meade to get treatment with the secret antidote serum. That's why it's "undisclosed reasons" is because the MIB's swore them to secrecy. Anyway, one of the unfortunate side-effects of the antidote is that it impairs judgement and decision-making so we'll have to see if he ever comes fully back or if he starts doing bicycle-kick backpasses to his own keeper.

Seeing as how we paid $200K to get him, I really don't think he's going anywhere too far. He's more than likely getting things together for his new life in the US.

Naw, I really don't care at all what the reasons are, as long as they don't preclude him from playing with United :)

Was just nervous that he might not be coming back, but it looks like (/spit /spit /spit) he'll be back for the California training.

P.S. Despite frequenting this forum, I really don't get off on 21st century voyeurism. Honest.

P.P.S. Are Becks and Posh getting along, I heard they had a fight...?

I have seen anything in the press, but I am in La Paz (again), and talked to a guy who said that he heard Peralta had flown back to BA to meet with Veron and see if he couldn't get a transfer to Estudiantes. Apparently he came to United thinking he would get to form a back line of Mario Gori, Facundo Erpen, himself, and Diego Soñora. When that failed, he inquired about the possibility of asked if it was true that American women were easy....

Yeah, I am making all of this up, except for the press part. No news in the press down here.

Pure speculation...This is bigsoccer...but reading the Soehn interview this morning it looks like most of the new DC players came in horrible (nonsoccer ready) shape. I bet that Peralta came in the worst of shape and was getting embarassed. I am sure he and the coaches spoke about him getting away from the team and working on his fitness in an environment where his fitness isn't a distraction. I think this makes more sense thn his going to met with Veron:rolleyes: We all know that Veron is going to be our 2nd DP who will be in dc sometime during the summer. Why would he need to see him.

Speculation? Sources? Hunch? Give up some info? Do you think that he's going to come over right after the Clausura or the end of Estudiantes run during the Copa Libertadores?

I think that is just a big speculation(he made it up himself). I doubt veron will be coming in the summer. But his play for estudiantes was nice, his passes are awsome and he likes to stay back more so with estudiantes to play defense some and work his way up slowly. I wouldnt mind him being in a DC uniform but we already got Gallardo and i dont think we really need veron.

Are you kidding me? Veron could play behind Gallardo and take the right side while Gallardo works the left. DCU has the second DP, so it sounds doable. If you guys had both Veron and Gallardo, I don't think that there will be a team in the MLS that could stop you.
