Pepi, Tillman and Dest - all games PBP thread

I think Pepi is definitely improving in that area.

I honestly would not have guessed that Tillman would get starts sooner than Pepi. Awesome to see that he's broken through, lets hope PSV can put together a less sad performance against Sevilla

Hard to argue Yank bias against 11g/6a in 13 competitive appearances this season... wild to still be producing at this rate at the age of 33

 

Game on. Dest is indeed left back and Tillman right midfield.

 

Dest gets the better of a head-bumping battle for a header in the defensive box. Not exactly his game.

 

Nice combination - Tillman feeds Dest, whose backpost cross is dangerous, play results in a de Jong shot deflected wide.

Next play - Tillman awesome quick turn and shot a the top of the box, but it's blocked.

 

Ah yes, the de Jong vs Sergio Ramos battle we've all come to expect in the UEFA Champions League: PSV vs Sevilla

 

Great stuff - Dest sliding pass to Tillman, quick feed to de Jong at the top of the box. Another partially blocked shot, though.

Tillman with some good hustle/speed recently.

Dest tries to dribble through everyone in an ugly blue/black shirt. Doesn't quite pull it off.

 

PSV materially better in the first half with nothing to show. Dest and Tillman both positive contributors to the good performance. Sevilla has done a good version of sitting back and limiting unchallenged shots.

 

Tillman has made some good runs in the box. Teammates just havent seen him yet. Hes pulled a Gio a few times throwing his hands in the air frustrated. TBF hes wide open.

 

Tillman is working hard. That is the first thing I am looking for.

 

Sleepy Malik's finally starting to put in some effort.

And Sevilla take the lead. Stop me if you've heard this before - CB mistake.

But ... PSV bailed out by a handball call as Pedrosa's arm helped control the ball on the way to scoring.

And a red card to someone on the Sevilla bench protesting the call.

 

That was not a handball, it hit his body.

 

Crossbar. Sevilla is going at it. Ered style defending won't cut it.

Tillman, off a great feed from Lang, puts it over the top from the penalty spot.

 

Dest steals from Lukebakio and ref accuses Lukebakio of diving on the play.
