Any word on when the Womens Fall Schedule will come out? Thoughts on who will be included in the Pre-Conference Schedule?
It's posted here now. Pre-conference schedule is very aggressive, and should provide for some highly entertaining and challenging matches. WVU, UConn, FSU, Rutgers, Wake, BU, Virginia, JMU & Bucknell. Go Lady Lions! WE ARE...
Should be a great one in Tally, you all are a much improved team with the remarkable class Coach Walsh [a one time Seminole ] and her staff just brought in. Good to hear your keepers injury was not as bad as once thought.
Women's Soccer Ventures to Brazil The Nittany Lions will experience a new culture in addition to international competition on the 10-day trip. Match Schedule: Match 1 - Wednesday, May 20 Match 2 - Thursday, May 21 Futsal tournament - Friday, May 22 Beach soccer tournament - Monday, May 25 Match 3 - Tuesday, May 26 http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/051809aab.html wow!
PSU lost their first match of the Brazilian tour 1-0. The name of the team is not known. It was a three hour bus ride to the stadium where the match was played.
Looks like Christine Nairn subbed near the end of the second half of the US Womens National Team game with Canada this weekend. That is great that she is getting time with the Senior National Team!!!
She came in for Hucles at 83 mins and played for the remaining 9 mins (two added for stoppage). She had some good touches and runs. Hopefully she'll be around for the entire PSU season. Still, a great opportunity and a bright future. WE ARE...
Last update May 21 on gopsusports "SOMEWHERE IN BRAZIL". I hope our soccer team hasn't been kidnapped. Probably the work of the other B10 teams to keep them from another B10 Championship. Only kidding of course, they probably are just out of wireless territory. They should be on their way home.
Lexi Marton was with the team on the Brazilian trip. Rachel LaMarre (sp) or others from PSU on the Canadian team?
US Soccer posted a nice video of the Canada match, which includes some video of Nairn at the end. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS2c7F1ojOg"]YouTube - May 25, 2009: WNT vs. CAN Highlights[/ame]
Which post are you referring to? The blog on Gopsusports has not been updated since 5/21. Can you provide a link?
If you looking inside the same blog post dated 5/21 there are updates for the dates I mentioned. http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/052109aaf.html
Thanks. A Doh! moment. I thought the newest material would be at the top and wasn't scrolling down. Much of the entry for the 27th was a repeat of the 20th. I'm glad they took the graduating seniors along. Losing Julie Bouchelle to BCU was a bummer.
Katie Schopfer had both goals in U23 game with FC Indiana of the W-League: http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/061809aaa.html
Nice comment on Katie Schoepfer's goal scoring for the U23 team. "Irwin does have the U-23s leading scorer for 2009 at his disposal in Penn State forward Katie Schoepfer, who has pounded in eight total goals while scoring braces in four different matches." http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_15073287.html
Awesome for Katie and for PSU. More good news: Nairn called up again http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_15073305.html Should be an interesting year with both players getting lots of high level games/training in during the summer months. Hope to see Alyssa back in top form, as well.
Look forward to playing you guys Sept 4 in Tallahassee. Sounds like you guys are going to be much stronger this year. Good luck, except against us!
A couple of the PSU Canadian freshmen, Rachel Lamarre and Lexi Marton are also getting some national team training and touches over the summer. http://www.canadasoccer.com/news/viewArtical.asp?Press_ID=3714
