Re: Pedro, Pauly, GrillMaster & Ryan White's Birthdays 5/15 vs Crapids tailgate thread! Happy Birthday Media Whores!
There sure are a lot of Tauruses in the Barra Brava. Probably explains the stubborn support for the team no matter what.
Regular Taigate on 5/15 Hell's kitchen will be ready to serve by 5:30: beef fajitas with onion. The side dishes are up to your fellow Barra tailgate denizens. Re birthdays, ditto Ryan above. GM
Before 5:30, if we can get Oscar there early enough. 5:30 only leaves us a little over an hour after food starts going out before cleanup starts. Or, to make it even more obvious, *you* if you're reading this. And Happy Birthday to Tom, Ryan, Mike, Paulie and Pedro!
P.S. I was at Lot 8 today. It's mostly done! The larger fenced in area at the east end of the lot was getting parking lines painted today; the fencing is gone. The smaller fenced-in area close to the Barra and SE tailgating areas still has the fence up, but the re-paving is finished. I doubt they'll have the lines painted and have it ready for tomorrow, but presumably it'll be available for the next match at RFK (Milan). Shows the kind of season we're having that I'm excited about the parking lot being repaved.
Bootsy - does it look like the Independence Ave entrance and exit gate are paved? Sorry, I disagree. While I'm not going to lecture on over-drinking, getting into the stadium is 50% of life (or is that just showing up is 50% of life).
http://twitter.com/dcunited/status/13992564210 In addition, the Independence Avenue entrance to Lot 8 is now open. All other lots and the Access Road remain fully accessible. I guess that doesn't really answer the paved/not paved question.
I think it answers the one people most want to know the answer to. As an aside, have you ever tried to explain to people how to get from the (recently unavailable) Independence Avenue entrance around to the access road off the SE/SW Freeway? It's tough enough to get someone who doesn't know their way around Capitol Hill to Barney Circle; but if the entrance off Barney Circle is closed by a cop, as is always the case as gametime approaches, then you have to send them all the way to South Capitol Street, which is insane.
3:30 arrival time for the gang and I, barring a traffic disaster, which is highly likely going 95 North on any given Saturday
