Will be good to see the new boys Huddlestone, Starieri, Tainio, Routledge & Lennon. Not too bothered if we don't win any games, more interested in individual performances than anything else.

Apparently being in this cup is worth good money - more than the uefa cup. The club has a one-off sponsor for it as well, Standard Chartered Bank I think.

2 million dollars prize money for the winning team.

$2m is surely much less than the uefa cup

in direct prize money going all the way and winning the UEFA cup should still be worth a bit more than winning the peace cup - about $3.5 million for UEFA - although this may be lower.

however the peace cup is only a week long- dont think winning it or making progress in it has any impact on player bonuses (unlike UEFA) and the participation money is said to be a lot more than UEFA.

Brilliant news. We will probably get to see some of the reserve players like Barnard and Yeates and maybe one or two of the younger players like Jamie O'Hara.

Why's it called the Peace Cup?
There aren't any wars going on where any of these teams play. Except Spurs of course (alluding to the Iraq war). Also, given a title like that, it's inevitable there's gonna be some nasty challenges resulting in some equally nasty injuries

Money raised will go towards the UN Peace Charity or something like that.

I don't think we'll play our reserve players.

Jol will try out different tactics & formations.
