i'd have to drive like 45 min. at least. then like 1.5 hours on the train (maybe more) or i can just drive an hour and 45.
Good thing you chose to stay on our side, then. I hope others near the southern portions of Jersey stay on board.
I'd love to take mass transit, but since we carpool with 4 people, the choice is: 50 minute drive, about 15 bucks gas and parking, or 2+ hours each way and 60 bucks in train tickets. The choice is easy
you can't just up and change your team once you have an attachment to them. i also grew up in hunterdon county, which is a NY sports area. besides, i can't stand football or baseball and i couldn't care less about the giants, jets, mets or yankees (i actually hate yankees fans!! ugghh!) but i really hate philly fans, regardless of my lack of support for another team or how i feel about the sport. i could never support a philly team.
With the apparent trend of building new stadiums without any parking for fans and most not living near PATH trains, etc, why not resort back to the days of going to ballgames on horseback?
Excuses, excuses. Bunch of pansies not wanting to ride horses and putting time and bringing your family before getting to a soccer game. I kid. My jibe was more directed at the lack of planning of some areas to allow people access to public transportation. Not everyone has the access I do
it pretty much takes me 25 minutes to get to the grocery store where i live. public transport isn't even on the radar for people out here.
I know a famliy of four that has been coming to RB games for the last 8 years that are switching. Same thing. It is less than an hour to the philly stadium for them.
I understand completely what you're saying. Public transport wouldn't be practical in areas like that anyway. I just personally hate driving and parking in cities so much and also worrying about having drinks in me that even if I'm coming from the suburbs to a concert in DC or something I'll drive down to a metro station in Maryland, park, and then use the trains from that point on--even if it takes more time. But this is only for events obviously. To each their own
Bottom line: if you think there will be a problem finding a parking spot, go early. However, at first glance, there are well over 5,000 available spots in the lots within the Red Bull trolley routes. As for the "why didn't they build a parking lot" complainers: give it up. There's already enough parking capacity in the area. If you don't like it, move to DC. I hear there's going to be a new parking lot built as soon as they tear down that POS baseball stadium...
Question: Is there a park and ride or something along 95 or the garden state north of Harrison? I m coming from westchester and my brother is driving from orange county Id like to meet somewhere before Harrison to park one car than drive down to game together. any suggestions? thanks.
thanks. is that a park and ride or a rest area? I guess im just wondering if my car could get towed...

I wonder how my plan will work... Park around noon and take PATH to Manhattan for the day; take PATH back out to Harrison for match. It'll be less than 12 hours, so it seems like it should be $10. I only have to cope with one traffic C-F instead of two, and be guaranteed a prime parking spot near exit.
why do that, why don't you take the Holland and take I-9 to Ironbound, park your car around the neiborhoods and walk or take the trolly to the Arena.
1. Parking seems harder in Ironbound, though I could be wrong. Probably not free for 12 hours. 2. Then I have to catch the trolley from the Arena after the game. I think your proposal is what I'll do a fair amount, but I like the idea of combining a trip to NYC with the match.
There is more than one lot owned by more than one company. Using the Devils as an example, the lots really close to the arena are $20 but only a block or two further and their are some for $10 (on game day). We may see some of that if you're willing to look and walk a little.
From one fan to the next could I get a little help? I will normally be taking the PATH to games, but for this one I have no choice but to drive. I'm coming from Sparta, NJ. When should I get on the road? Keep in mind that I'd like to have an hour or so to pregame at a bar in Harrison as well (since, as I understand, there is no tailgating...) Thanks for any help! Also, name of a good bar with supporters would be great!
