Another left-back! They're just coming out of the woodwork now. I may have to start a Santiago Bedoya thread.
new article but nothing really new other than he officially has chosen to go pro rather than go to college http://www.roanoke.com/sports/college/wb/253665
What's up with this kid? Wasn't called into the Olympic training camp. He recently started for Karlsruhe II as a defender of some type. I think he may be a left-back. http://www.wormser-zeitung.de/sport/top-clubs/wormatia-worms/11284393.htm He's got 14 starts this year in the Regional league. http://www.soccerway.com/players/parker-walsh/140626/
28 starts for Parker in the Regionalliga this season. His contract is up in June. What's next? Remember, he is a left back...(though with Johnson, Chandler and Lichaj, this isn't a position of weakness anymore).
My guess is he signs a pro deal with a 3d or 4th division team, unless Karlsruhe has immediate plans to promote him. PS Karlsruhe still has a chance of being relegated to the 3rd Liga, so it probably depends on that.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/06/04/american-exports-suitors-line-us-youth-defender FA now and supposedly has several interested parties. First I'd heard his name.
Karlsruhe gave up 60 goals in the 2.Bundesliga this season, second behind only last-place Hansa Rostock -- an improvement on last year's 72. That Walsh wasn't called up to a team with such a bad defense is not an endorsement of him. Then again, he appears to out of contract and we've seen with several players that German clubs kick you to the curb the moment it seems you aren't in it for the long haul.
Left back Walsh, a striker and a midfielder on trial. Looks like they're rather looking for a random bargain than for an important player. However, nothing wrong with that.
Apparently Walsh (as well as the other 2 trialists) failed to impress and will not be offered a contract at Cottbus
Walsh is negotiating with his old club Karlsruhe for a 6 months contract, according to local paper BNN (paywall). They want him to join their camp in Turkey on Saturday.
They probably just want to check if he is fit enough to possibly play from the start. KSC are now coached by Walsh's old coach at KSC II, who was there the entire time when Walsh was at the club - so it's not as if they need to get to know him.
Currently on this trial. Not much other info provided in the article. He did score in one of two friendlies in which he played thus far.
KSC has signed Walsh (again). At least we don't have to change the thread title Edit: It has been officially announced by the club, and the contract runs through June.
He's been on trial with the Fire. So far he's survived the cuts already and done a good job from the one game I've seen him play. If he does well in Tucson with the Fire he could sign. We lack fullbacks atm.
Looks like he is out of soccer as he is now listed on Virginia Tech's football team, as a punter. http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/walsh_parker.html
