    Parity is what they got.
Tell me MLS isn't going to go that way...
    Please..
Give us something to care about, or hate...
But don't leave us swinging in the wind...

    Thank you.
    And ******** you.
This is the first year that I watched the Super Bowl with my girlfriend, and I was more drawn to tears by the halftime show than anything else...
To reiterate: My girlfriend was more into the actual game than I was...
I won $250 on the Eagles, but I wasn't inspired...
    Why?
    Discuss..........etc.

Parity I can take. The excitement and the wonder that on any given day, my team or your team can go head to head and win. That's where the wonder is. That's what should get us up in the morning to stream into the stadium and cheer our lungs out in the evening.

What I can't take is mediocrity. Teams playing like sick dogs. Teams playing like the 1998 or 1999 Wizards. Teams that completely bypass the midfield because the defenders panic when a bag is popped behind them or have players that "just want the ball anywhere but here".

You know them - these are the teams without heart, or soul, or fire. The teams that look at a 50-50 ball as if it were covered in the Ebola virus. Teams that think a "just good enough" effort is the best they can do. Teams that play not to lose, but to win.

I think the last handful of SuperBowls have been the best product of the NFL's parity. It certainly helps keep more markets buzzing about their home teams longer, and make sthe final game tighter. I don't watch even the full SuperBowl, so I can't tell if the talent is less impressive, but I don't think that's a necessary side effect of parity.

Parity is a beginning, not an end.

Funny.. my fiancee was more into the game than I was. I did some work around the house, went to the grocery store, had a few beers. She listened to the game while reading her public health stuff.

We're both waiting for March 9. She bought season tickets for DCU this year as well.

That was one ugly game. And not in an "Ugly Game to Remember" kind of way...

    Vanilla triumphs once again...

The halftime show was probably the best in recent memory though...

US football is "The Ugly Game". Soccer is "The Beautiful Game".

Geez, I must have something wrong with me for enjoying a game that featured two aggressive defenses making life difficult for the offenses. What a sap I am for just sitting back and appreciating the action.

I enjoy a good defensive battle as well.
