Fellow Rosanero, please feel free to put any news about the transfer market here (as long as it in involves us, you know?).

I'm still trying to figure out where that Anderson deal went wrong...

I read about Di Vaio and Di Michele coming. Either would be great.

Also, now that Bologna have gone down, Palermo were linked with Mourad Meghni, but most of that was because Guidolin was Bologna coach and knew Meghni. So now that Del Neri is coach, it might not happen.

Well, with Guidolin now signing at Genoa, is there a chance they might steal him?

Well i've been using Microsoft Access to keep some tabs on rumours on various major European clubs (and personal faves). These rumours are basically anybody i found inked to Palermo from a reputable site (namely channel4, planetfootball, soccernet NOT tribalfootball, goal.com, etc)

Christian Abbiati (AC Milan, Italy, GK)
Anderson (Gremio, Brazil, MD)...since signed for PORTO
    Andrea Caracciolo (Brescia, Italy, FW)
David Di Michele (Udinese, Italy, FW)
Marco Di Vaio (Valencia, Italy, FW)
    Mauro Espositio (Cagliari, Italy, FW)
    Antonio Langella (Cagliari, Italy, FW)
    Stephen Makinwa (Atalanta, Nigeria, FW)
    Mourad Meghni (Bologna, France, MD)
    Faryd Mondragon (Galatasaray, Colombia, GK)
Franco Semioli (Chievo Verona, Italy, MD)
    Matteo Sereni (Lazio, Italy, GK)

I think Zamparini will probably need to be shot to give up Toni. the next 3-5 years of this team will involve him being in the center.

Get out your gun, Zamparini is saying just that. He doesn't want to give Toni raise and is talking of bringing in Caracciolo to replace Toni.

Based upon Vieri's performance the last 2 seasons I would agree. But if Zamparini goes ahead with his rumoured bonehead sale of Toni, then Palermo is going to need a very good attacker. Vieri may be that man since this same article says he is determined to return to the Azzurri for World Cup 2006 and would be willing to take a pay cut. In that case, Palermo could have a very motivated Vieri.

That said, I'd still prefer Toni.

Palermo would be stupid to sell Toni. He plays with some much passion and represents his team. He is probably the reason why Palermo were so high up on the table last season.

You never know with Zamparini. One minute he's on your good side, and the next minute he'll get rid of you. This guy has to be the craziest owner in Serie A.

I loved when Gaucci was in Serie A and they'd have him on Domencia Sportiva. It was fun how he wasn't afraid to criticize anything.

Gaucci is the owner of Perugia, Catania, and Sangiuseppese. He is crazy and not afraid to criticize anyone. After the Women's World Cup in 2003, he wanted to sign Swedish midfielder Hanna Ljunberg. Also, after Ahn scored the winning goal against Italy in WC 2002, he did not allow him to come back to Perugia. He also was the first to bring an Asian to Italy (Nakata).

Yeah, Gaucci was one of the most colorful and controversial figures in Italian soccer in recent years. He has stepped out of the limelight largely due to Perugia's relegation, though if they get promoted again, he'll be back to share his pearls of wisdom. He was also involved in the effort to keep Napoli in Serie B last year, which obviously failed.
