Want the best possible evidence the Buckeyes are disappointing this year? The front page of the Dispatch sports section, two and a half weeks before the Michigan game, was dominated by a full-color picture and feature article about a foreigner who is the third-best defender on the soccer team.

third best??? well it can hard to say "who is the best" when really a back line tends to operate as a single entity and feed off each other. i have to say though, i would rate him higher than frankie overall (as far as straight game play goes- not other entangibles). and there are days when i might rate him above marshall, but those days tend to be when danny o was on the outside and it seemed marshall was stretched a little thin covering for danny.

to be honest, my opinion about who our "best" defender is could probably change almost daily. Padula is quickly becoming my favorite player though. the only thing the man really lacks is speed.

all that being said, its freaking nice to be debating who is the most badass defender on our team, especially when our team has the most badass defence in the league.

Padula brings a great deal to this team and is the perfect match for Rogers.
