I don't mind that he hasn't had much activity in recent years. But my problem is that this will be another Stefan Medina situation where we'll need to replace him after a year anyway. From what I've read, he's in his final year with Monterrey and we will only be paying 60% of his salary. It's probably one of those situations where Monterrey know they can't really get any money off him at this point so they may as well save some money by loaning him. Once that loan is over, unless Pachuca is willing to pay his salary he's probably going to end up in MLS or in South America. I'd rather invest in players who we know will still be here in 2 years time.

lol BTW it's looking like the big signing will be Nico Ibañez. Watched the highlights of his goals. No me parece un jugador que sepa sacar goles de la nada como a veces se necesita en Pachuca. Mas bien parece un atacante por izquierda que juega bien en lo colectivo y que es un rematador de cabeza de élite. Would be a good signing for set pieces alone and seems a good all around attacker but I wouldn't want him as the striker in a 4-3-3 if that's what Pezzolano is going with.
Apparently things got more complicated and both Cruz Azul and Pachuca have been pushing hard for him. Supposedly it's over and it should be announced tonight where he's going to end up.
@LaMascara Would a 4-5-1 where it's Ibañez and Mazapan as the striker/attacking mid combo work? Feel like de la Rosa could learn some serious link up play being on the field with Ibañez.
