    Good article. Motivated but sputtering is a good description of the Revs at the moment. The article reminded me of something I had thought of during the last match -- the frequency with which Caldwell made back-passes or square passes. He struck me as really playing timidly (enough so to make me wonder if not getting the opening day start got into his head a bit?).

    It looks like it's going to be a cold and dreary day in Chester. Have your boys bring the orange balls. :)

    Current forecast for Sunday: Cloudy with snow. Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

    What is this blasphemy about the s word? I thought it was always sunny in Philadelphia? Damn, so FX has been lying all this time? ;)

    While I hate Philly's sports teams (and expect the same in return), I hate them less than the a-holes from the city 2 hours up 95 to your north.

    As an old retired coach I am sure you could appreciate this -
    • Here's to a hard fought game in the snow or any other weather Ma Nature serves up;
    • Unusual for MLS (read: good - or at least tolerable) reffing;
    • No major injuries for either side.

    They have changed the forecast. Sorry, no orange balls.

    They now say off and on rain showers for the afternoon. Temperature about 41 degrees.

    I guess the weatherman is as reliable as (insert name of Revolution or Union executive of your choice.)

    Considering Donnie Smith has more MLS experience than today's PRO offering, I wouldn't hold your breath on this:

    REFEREE: Nima Saghafi. AR1 (bench): Sean Hurd; AR2 (opposite): Adam Wienckowski; 4th: Alan Kelly
    MLS Career: First game.

    Looks like John Murphy gets the start as the analyst in the booth alongside Feldman today in Philly.

    Revs-Philly in your first game ever? The MLS ref assignee must not like Kelly.

    Nguyen
    Fagundez
    Caldwell

    Shuttleworth

    Bench:
    Barnes, Woodberry, Neumann, Herivaux, Knighton, Agudelo, Hollinger-Janzen

    Davies is out with an injury. We will see how Teal does alone up top, I remember the beginning of 2014 and am not as confident as the homers calling the game.

    1-0 Union....Revs playing slow, making terrible decisions and it bites them in the butt

    Sapong scores 1 0 Philly 18'.
    They were building up to it, creating chances, providing crosses.
    It's not entirely surprising they finished one of their chances.

    The revs have been asleep so far, hopefully this gets them going.

    In other news, John Murphy is an awful tv analyst. Makes me pine for Jeff Causey type awful. If he is the assoc coach at BC, I don't know how his players stay awake listening to him - it's a challenge.

    Anybody counting the turnovers by Rowe so far? Has to be close to 6 in the first 26 minutes.

    Heaps needs a wakeup call. What ever this is, it's not producing chances. We have had one chance in 29 minute and that was a shot from distance by Lee. Not going to win many like this

    2 0 Philly
    Sapong again

    Revs take a free kick - hit both posts - ball doesn't go in. Murphy: "it's a good sign" :rolleyes:

    A minute later, Watson gets a red for an idiotic challenge.

    Ok this one's ovah congrats Philly, I'm going to enjoy the sunshine and salvage my weekend.

    Murphy should create a series of "help you fall asleep" mp3s, put that monotone voice to good use.

    The solo attacker is never going to work but Heaps is too stubborn and inexperienced to see it.
