On the Rev's site Tony Delemea is the poster boy for the match. Eek -- poor planning on someone's part.

It'd be hard to not go through, but I won't be the jinx here. However, remember that the group matches still count in the standings, so this is still a big deal in the table.

9 am on ESPN, don't forget to set your DVR's -- feels like an EPL match.

Quiz time. In Mls's preview, there are two errors, one factual and one grammatical (word choice):
It should be noted, too, that Toronto started the 2020 season by going 1-0-1 and the Revs were 0-2. Will that matter at this stage or does the MLS is Back Tournament disregard early form? We'll soon find out as these 2019 Audi MLS Cup Playoff sides chance a Round of 16 berth.

    Rep if you find both.

Was this always a 9 AM ? Could have sword I'd seen my DVR list this as a 8PM at one point. Oh well I've got it set. Will be at work at 9 , follow as best as I can on livescore etc and watch the highlights later if its worth it.

I had thought that it was originally 8 am. One time to be happy that I'm on furlough.

Do or die boys. I think if DC wins and we lose, DC moves ahead of the Revs in group play with 5 points to our 4. A win would seal it for us and that's what we need to get. I have to think Gil is probably out and that will hurt. Where are the goals going to come from? We're not exactly setting the world on fire. Also, what will Arena to do shut down Akinola? That kid is fast and deadly. Might be a good time to get Farrell's speed into the game? I don't fear Jozy but this kid does worry me. On the other hand, Toronto allowed 3 goals from Montreal so that's encouraging. If Gil is out and Arena turns to Diego, the kid needs to show something or I think his days are numbered.

MLS has this lineup. If true its an interesting place for Teal. Does this mean Zahibo is not going to be considered anymore or are they counting on Teal's pace to mark Akinola?

    According to ESPN:

    Matt Turner

DeJuan Jones Henry Kessler Andrew Farrell Brandon Bye

Tajon Buchanan Scott Caldwell Kelyn Rowe Diego Fagundez

    Teal Bunbury Adam Buksa

    This will be interesting.

I'm not sure Interesting is the first word that comes to mind. Hopefully Bruce knows what he's doing...

Gil is in a walking boot. Not even on the bench today.

I look at this and see a 3-0 win for Toronto

I called that back line - and I like it.

    No Bou, though? Super-sub.

He's been taking a lot of shots, but he's been around the goal (and scoring corners) for the most part.

Big spots for Taj and Diego - can they rise to the challenge?

We look like crap and its obvious we have no depth. Teal is useless, Diego mostly useless. Not that impressed with our tall, DP at forward. Seems slow and unable to create his own shot

The Bruce has been yelling at the wrong AR. The far side guy missed a call early in the match where we would have been in alone.

Buksa needs service, and frankly I don't see where it's coming from until we make some substitutions.

85 minutes in and I have to say Diego has done zero to earn more PT. He has been bad

I liked the play the second half. I like Buchanon and what he brought to the game. Bye with another good game. Fagaundez was on center stage but did not perform. Tonight we should all be Montreal fans and pray they can win or tie

Much better second half, fair result overall. Both teams had chances to take the game but in the end I think they both felt content with a draw. Five points should be enough to advance even if DC ends up winning by 2 tonight.

We survived the first half. In the second half, we played much better with the kids. I thought overall Buchanan played well. Rowe was the best player for us in the first half. We had a couple of questionable moments. That foul by Jones at the edge of the box, I thought oh no here we go again losing it in the last few minutes of the game. We have to figure out how to score, 2 goals in 3 games doesn't get you very far. But for now, we get to keep playing.

I honestly didn't expect the VAR to overturn the penalty call when the foul happened 4 feet outside the box (it had to be super embarrassing for Marrufo to spot the ball that far out of the box). I thought that the VAR had overslept. They should have looked at the Bou penalty, and the Penilla handball, and the Bradley card (I saw it as red, as he swept through with his back leg in a scissors -- a "full Stoichkov").

Alejandro Moreno grew on me as a color announcer. I was prepared to hate him from past history during his playing days. He was fair and added real value in his comments. Except, of course his suggestion that Akindola should have dived. I liked Adrian's attempt to save him, with "You mean he should have created contact to get the call".

Revs have booked their spot in the round of 16, now it is up to DCU/MON to determine which spot they get.

A DC win drops the Revs to third, so we'd play Orlando or San Jose. If we finish second, we play Philly.

I like that we gave up one goal in three games (and that was off a blatant screwup). I don't like that we only scored twice.
