what's the deal on bbq grills for tailgating. i have a portable camping grill, screw on gas container, think it's allowed?

I plan to bring food (no grilling) and some beers, but don't plan to park in one of the designated tailgating lots. How strict is enforcement? I'll likely just be eating and drinking inside the car, or maybe in the back of my hatchback with the liftgate open.
