TV: ESPN These are the live standings. As you can see, not the best start for either LA team. Far to say whomever loses this one is likely going home.
Corona is back, so I expect him to take Kljestan's spot. Other than that, I think it will be the same team. Maybe Depuy for Steres. Losing this one will suck even more than normal. LAFC are missing this main scoring threat in Vela, and a loss will see us booking our ticket back home because I don't see us being one of the best 3rd place teams even with a win against Houston. Really need a win here and thankfully our record against LAFC is pretty good. Although that was with Ibra who saved our asses a few times.
It makes perfect sense so I'm pretty sure it won't happen. Even if I drop the bitter sarcasm I get the same answer. GBS has stuck with Kitchen pretty consistently when he is healthy. Plus I've never seen any suggestion that he even recognizes how much Kitchen hurts us on the field. Most of the time GBS just sits or stands around looking pained and like he has no idea why things aren't working out for him or the team.
I demand we win. 2020 has sucked (losing Rep. Lewis this evening hurts) and I need something good. I doubt we'll see it, but I would love for GBS to turn to the young guys and tell them that if they want to be professional soccer players that now is the time to put up or shut up and have them run like hell for 45 minutes and see what happens. We have 5 subs so if they run themselves into the ground we can replace them in the second half...And honestly this might be our best Starting-XI right now... ---------------Chicharito Dunbar--------Efrain--------Pavon ---------Lletget------Corona Insua---Depuy---Steres---Araujo ---------------Bingham Subs: Wild, Klejstan, Kitchen, Cuello, Feltscher
This is not only a derby but a strange little tournament which so far has seen many upsets and us whoopin on the billys would seen like a natural progression of current events. Seeing both defenses seem rather shitty I expect a symphony of defensive screwups and a festival of goals. I am hoping for a W for sure but will take my one tie point with quiet dignity if it has to be. We can then take our chances with Houston for surviving group play. Let Portland have at it with LAFC. We are ahead of the goats games-wise so of course a loss will sting like no other. HERE WE GO!! Once again into the breach my friends!!! GO GALAXY!!!
This one's giving me hives, not gonna lie. Hope we pull it out. Going to have to watch on tape delay...
In our team's current state scoreless draw is my only hope for the game, but I am expecting a loss tbh.
If our stars have a big game, we can triumph. They don't have Vela, whose done the most damage in every Traffico to date by far (of course, we don't have Zlatan -- but we do have Pavon who has scored 2 goals in 2 Traficos against them). Rossi historically has not been that great against us and Dio is iffy. Given it's a rivalry match in a pretty weird tournament, I think the result is up for grabs. I actually think there's a good chance we see Araujo and Efrain. Let's play without fear.
On other hand, LA Former Chivas is nothing but overhyped newcomer, had 2 decent seasons, but luck can't last forever, bubble has to burst sometime, maybe 2020 is a year when their true colors (ill-fated Shitvas team) will shine thru that marketing/PR shield they've built, and they collapse.
I'm breaking out my fancy whiskey for this so I have something to look forward to just in case it's a terrible result. I'll go for a pour for every goal lol.
Chicharito apparently a game time decision with an injury 1284620438329372672 is not a valid tweet id
What are going on about man. Why no Chicha? I am about to go into suspension of disbelief mode. You can't hit me with these negative emanations now brother. You're gonna mess up my trip.
Adrian Heath just said during the Portland-Houston game that Chicha strained his calf during training on Thursday.
Lineup : Bingham Feltscher Araujo Steres Gonzalez Insua Lletget Kitchen Corona Cuello Pavon Very strange. If it works, congratulations GBS, but I doubt it.
I think it’s a 4-4-1-1 with cuello or Pavon as a false 9? I have no effing clue what this is. On paper looks like Feltscher is a right mid like he was the fist time we played LAFC to stop Vela. But this is weird.
