You guys and gals ever read the game guides? I always forget, but here it is... http://web.mlsnet.com/pdf/mls/2009/gameguides/04/411lachv.pdf Its packed with a lot of interesting stats and info. Some points.. -Donovan & Gordon do well together against Chivas the past 3 years -only Clint Mathis has more red cards (8) than Kovalenko -Ricketts has trained every day for 2 weeks, he may play tomorrow -Dunivant might be on the 18 man squad & make his debut -Buddle might play also -No current LAGs have played for Chivas, but 6 Chivas have played for LAG -Klein is only 4 games away from his 300th MLS game.
Hey i've been working on a silly little utility, that I think might be useful for BigSoccer in general. Basically it's a way to input line ups, and get a nice neat generated bigsoccer code box, that has all the positions lined up. Galaxy Line Up from the Colorado Debacle Which generates the following - Code: ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------Saunders-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---Franklin-------Gonzalez--------Sanneh----------Lewis----- ------------------------------------------------------------ -----Klein--------Kovalenko-------Tudela--------Patterson--- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------Gordon------------------------Donovan----------- ------------------------------------------------------------ Feel free to use it, and send me feedback on this.
Repped... This should easily win the BS Best Post of the Year Award. I'll try it out, thanks. Im a fan of the GK on the bottom. Any button possible to switchero the top to bottom?
for those wishing to "encourage" the linesmen by name..... REFEREE: Tim Weyland. SAR (bench): Craig Lowry; JAR (opposite): Nate Clement; 4th: Baldomero Toledo MLS Career: 91 games; FC/gm: 30.1; Y/gm: 3.7; R: 26; pens: 21 http://web.mlsnet.com/news/team_new...t_id=237780&vkey=news_lag&fext=.jsp&team=t106
I'd like to see Ricketts finally please..... Code: ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------Ricketts-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---Franklin-------Gonzalez--------Sanneh------Bergermeister- ------------------------------------------------------------ -----Klein---------Tudela--------Patterson--------Lewis----- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------Gordon------------------------Donovan----------- ------------------------------------------------------------
On a personal note, I just hope everyone keeps a cool head tomorrow and not be baited into an altercation. Our stadium rivals have been known to get violent against Chicago fans, Club America fans, Pachuca fans, there OWN fans, and lastly, a lot of LA fans, (to name of a few). We ARE better then them, and we must show it by example. All I'm saying is stay cool, and be safe. tm lars g's ambassadors
I actually wouldn't mind seeing this.... Code: ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------Ricketts-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------Gonzo------------Berhalter--------Marshall/Sanneh--- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---Franklin---------Migs----------Tudela----------Lewis----- -------------Klein------------------------Donovan----------- ------------------------Buddle/Gordo------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------
If Ricketts is worth anything, we just might be able to pull off a 3 man back line. By mid season I could see something like this.... Code: ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------Ricketts-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------Gonzalez----------Bergermeister---------Marshall------ ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------Tudela--------Kovalenko------------------ ----Beckham---------------------------------------Lewis----- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------Donovan------------------------Buddle----------- ---------------------------Gordon--------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ You've got a hometown kid up top in Gordo with attacking speed along sides of him. Beckham & Lewis handle the mid wings, with Tudela and Kovalenko solidifying the mid D. Ricketts in goal commanding his 3 man backline which includes speed on the sides to get to those attckers trying to cross anything in and Berhalter as the central D managing his rookies on both sides. This lineup doesnt include Franklin who can come in as a sub. I think Omar is already better and Franklin has become this years Randolph. I think Tudela can learn something from Dema (hopefully the good stuff). Sanneh can come in as a sub if needed... hes just too slow taking time off of MLS. And Klein can start a fire if he comes in during the waning minutes of a game. When Beckham leaves at the end of the season, Babayaro can easily make up the difference. Happy Easter to all before i forget!
That is very cool! I'll second the goalkeeper at the bottom. And since we're making requests could you list what the different formations are?
If you just go here - http://notunusual.net/lineup/ You should have a drop down of formations. I can add more, change more, rename them if they don't make sense. I'll try to add a "preview" image of the formations as well, so when you select it, you see what you're getting at.
I'd like to see something like this (formation 6 ) Code: ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------Saunders-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---Franklin-------Gonzalez--------Sanneh----------DelaG----- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------Klein-------------Kovalenko-------------Lewis------- ---------------------------Donovan-------------------------- ------------Gordon-----------------------Kirovski----------- ------------------------------------------------------------ Given how poor our wings are, we probably need to push Donovan to the midfield so at least we get three dangerous players. When Buddle gets healthy, sub him for Kirovski.
Looks like Ricketts might get his first start. And I knew he was a big guy, but I had no idea he was this big: http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_12120669 He should just lay in front of the goal. Nothing could get by him.
Or even just a second alt lineup page if its too much to incorporate the GK at the bottom style. Would also like to see the lineup of... 3-2-2-2-1 or 3-2-2-3 or 3-2-2-3 or 3-2-2-1-2 or something along those lines of.. -three defenders -two central defending mids -two winger mids -then some mixup of 3 forwards as above (1 up top, 2 sides) or (3 forwards in a line) or (2 up top, 1 reserved forward in the middle) You could also do it with 4 defenders.... 4-2-2-2 4-2-2-1-1 (an attacking forward and a reserved forward)
I've got two tickets available for tonight... Section 137. I'll email the pair to you for $25. Please send me a PM if interested.
at right back? because at this point, you could compare the two. Franklin is very raw right now at right back. They both have speed, both make mistakes, etc. They both even contribute to the attack. Just remember that Mikey had a couple of assists last season, like one of Buddle's headed goals. etc. But, later in the season hopefully Franklin can grow into his position more as to where we can say he is steps beyond Randolph.
I did the exact same thing, then waited patiently because I was sure someone would explain & I wouldn't have to look stupid. profiler, this is pretty awesome, and I think BigSoccer should buy the rights from you & put it on the site for everyone.
Lol, same for me. I couldn't figure it out, but I didn't want to be the one to ask, I figured someone else would!
You made it too easy! Now we'll spend the season looking at lineups. Like: --------------------------Ricketts-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---Franklin---------Omar---------Old Dude----------AJ------- ----------------------------Klein--------------------------- ------------Jordan-------------------------Lewis------------ --------------------------Kirovski-------------------------- ------------Donovan-----------------------Gordon------------ I think with a little patience and some returning players, there is no reason for us to completely suck this year. When Buddle gets back, Donovan can replace Kirovski, and when Beckham gets back, he can try to earn his spot back on the right side. Klein might not be the perfect fit for D-Mid, but I don't see any reason to put Dema on the field to give away any more games, and Tudela has yet to impress me. I hear there is this kid named Brandon McDonald who would look great there...
If Buddle could start tonight (don't know if he can), then part of me thinks that the ol' 3-5-2 would get our best players out on the field: ---------------Ricketts ---Gonzo-----Berhalter---Sanneh ---------Klein-------Tudela Franklin------Donovan------Lewis --------Buddle-------Gordon Then sub in Jordan, Migs or Marshall as the game dictates. That lineup puts a lot of pressure on Franklin and Lewis - but it keeps our 3 slowish backs compact, where the lack of pace isn't as exploitable. It puts two defensive minded mids to clog the passing lanes, one of which (Klein) has the passing ability to control possession, etc. and it sticks Donovan back in midfield, giving us some sort of dangerous attack from the middle. That said, if I had to guess, Buddle probably isn't ready yet so I think we'll be seeing our normal 4-4-2: --------------Ricketts Franklin--Gonzo--Beranneh--AJDLG ----------Mig------Tudela Klein-------------------------Lewis -------------Donovan --------------Gordon Whatever formation we play, I hope the guys come out with some passion, intensity, and mental focus (no goals allowed after 17 seconds, please). And, oh yeah, I hope we win...
