One last time, the favored child versus the goat-like stepson. My how the time does fly!

Broadcast is Univision Deports and TWCS. And not MLS Live, at least not live, dammit.

Rep to anyone who can link that time that Donovan leaped over a Chivas USA defender/midfielder - - whatever, I can picture it so clearly, and I think for awhile it was my avatar - - and ran practically the entire length of the field to score or set up the score. I will accept still photos or video.

This matchup is dying for a proper retrospective of Superclassico greatest hits. Is it still called the Superclassico?

OK, time to stop this post before I ramble on anymore.

To the tune of Dead Kennedys' "Kill The Poor":

KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL THE GOATS (repeat ad nauseum)

I remember that video and if it's the same game I'm thinking, I remember Goats USA fans and MLS "neutrals" bitching about how much stoppage time there was.

I'm debating on going to this game because I would like to see LA massacre the Goats and keep their scoreless streak going but I'd rather not give money to CUSA. That and I need to watch my spending since I'm still unemployed but checking out the prices at Stubhub.com and it looks like they'll be removing their tarps for this game because the north end GA section has openings. HA! Shows you that the Galaxy is more popular. HAHAHA! Yes I'm a d!ckhead for laughing at their misery but I don't give fvck.

The last goats v G game, I delayed til the last second and went to the window and bought a GA ticket. They sold it to me even though the tarps were covering that section. I snuck into the Galaxy away section anyway.

P.S. Glad to see that affront to Los Angeles' sensibilities finally die.

^ What a dirty bastard Marsch was. And Beckham had such a temper. I believe we lost that game 3-0?

I still don't know how Marsch doesn't get a yellow for that kick from behind to the stomach on Becks. A bit high wasnt it?

Ha, Geneva I can tell from your post that this play is still something you remember with a little disgust. Funny thing was a couple of years after this as I'm watching my kids early days in AYSO some littler kid wanders off with a ball from my ball bag - so cute - until .. I realize the kid is being watched by and belongs to Jessie Marsch ... and then my mind is momentarily flush with the memory of this exact play and the disdain for Marsch.

Needless to say, we got the ball back (but no kick to the stomach from behind).

That game was on a Wednesday night. The previous Sunday Becks had played 90 minutes in a 5-4 loss to Chicago, flew to England and played 90 minutes in a loss to Germany on Tuesday, jumped back on a plane and our idiot coach played him all 90 minutes against Chivas.

Two 90 minutes games a day apart is crazy, let alone two separated by an 11 hour flight.

When Becks first got to MLS, he had no one to tell him "NO." This is not a criticism of Becks, but he needed something other then "yes men" in the organization. The ability of Bruce Arena to put boundaries around Becks and his team was the key to the success we had in that latter part of his tenure. Becks had a ton of heart, but the Galaxy initially ceded too much control to him and his team.

Our "idiot coach" who was foisted on us by Beckham himself through his advisors.... If he was badly used, he had no one to blame but himself. Of course we were the ones who suffered for that pig-headed stupidity.

Agreed, and on the other side of the coin you had MLS/AEG desperate to recoup on their investment and putting Becks everywhere and everywhen possible even when he should have been rehabbing. It wasn’t until 2008 when the AEG/MLS ceded more control and we got the disaster that was Ruud Gullit.

    Donovan killed The Goats?

His work is done here. I now understand his retirement.

Ohhh. THAT idiot. Given our pre-Bruce history, its hard to keep track of which idiot was running the club at what time.

This is an interesting reference. "Last"? I guess we're just admitting to the rebranding, eh?

Let's break the scoring record, now that we broke the most passes leading to a goal record.

    I hope we win.... :D :D
