The game will now be broadcast of Fox Sports 1 (for those of you like myself without tickets). As of yesterday, there was no mention of a TV broadcast. This will be the first game in the renovated Rosebowl with field level entry/exit for those of you with sideline seats below the tunnels. Hopefully this should make entry and exit easier for everyone. FWIW, I was told on a tour of the facility in June (UCLA football oriented) that when they play soccer matches at the Rose Bowl they leave the 7" crown on the field. So the ball will have a tendency to roll to the sidelines and out of touch.
I tried to care about this game. I failed. Now I am just rooting for no injuries, and that Omar gets a little bit of run time. I hate these mid-season friendlies with the passion of a thousand suns.
A buddy of mine got tickets from his job and me being 10 minutes from the Rose Bowl it was an easy decision for me to go, and since I don't have many chances to get out to the stubby, it will be great seeing the G's friendly or not.
I was surprised to learn that the game is actually on tv. Initially there was no mention of TV. So I will at least be tuning in. I was initially a little upset they scheduled this midweek at the RoseBowl because I thought it would cut in to my profits from selling my season tickets to Eurosnobs... but I actually made out quite well on the deal I made. The best way to look at these friendlies is a tax on Eurosnobs...
Like others, I'm not too excited about this friendly either. Years ago this would've been cool but meh. Appropriate GIF, Topper.
And if one of our starters gets hurt, I'm going to pour gasoline over myself and self-immolate in front of the LAG FO.
I don’t think it’s just we hardcores that don’t care. Typically when I sell these types of tickets they’re gone in a flash and for ludicrous sums of money (fleecing Eurosnobs is fun). Finally sold mine yesterday for under $100. So you known just about enough to buy a large beer at StubHub.
I thought I saw on the Galaxy site, they were expecting approximately 60K. I don't know what the current seating capacity is and the number posted in Wikipedia 92,541 is wrong. I believe the new number is under 90K. When they installed the new walkway and hedges, they removed over a 1000 seats that had obstructed views of the field which UCLA covered with tarps and obviously did not sell plus some others. In addition some seats were removed for tunnel renovations. Finally a limited number of club seats were added.
Hmmm the United commentators saying Landon on the bench due to poor form. Ill informed or not having to tow the "company" line?
As much as I'd love to watch the comedy show of Leonardo vs Rooney, I have work tomorrow at 6 and I live in Houston so I cannot stay up till midnight watching this. Just don't get smashed like we did years ago against Real Madrid.
