If the Revolution and DC go into overtime, what is the format?

30 minutes divided into two 15-minute halves. Non GG.

I belive its a mini match, 2 15 minute halves. We were discussing the golden goal thing at summers during the crew game, and all of us could swear that its NOT golden goal. If tied after the extra time, then it goes to shootout.

If im wrong, someone please correct me.

Anybody else read the title of this thread and then suddenly find themselves humming a Stevie Wonder tune.

I've heard GG on some broadcasts, non-GG on others. And non-GG in print, which is supposedly different than last year. Maybe the GG was just for the last round? Sorry I can't help at all.

    Thx,

    Jay!

I think the broadcasters of the Crew - Revs last match were wrong. I dont think GG is used in any of the 30 min OT periods.

I think FIFA has asked leagues to stop using golden goal, but MLS started their season before the change. So, MLS would be allowed to use golden goal without going against FIFA this season. Of course, MLS could decide on their own not to have it too.

I believe this was the final year the US Open Cup had golden goal.
