I don't think he could handle it over there. Tsing Tao, that is the worst beer ever made. Maybe they can put something in his contract that Guiness will be flown in daily.

Actually, Irish Bars are very popular in China right now. When I was last at the Guinness brewery, they talked about the amount being exported to East Asia.

Not as much as goes to DC to fulfill certain moderator's habits  but enough to give Gazza some hope... ;)

    All 1 billion of them?!

Oh, wait. We're talking about Gazza here.

    Carry on.

This seems appropriate, as Gascoigne has more chins than China.

It's sad to me.. It's obvious he wants to play beyond the time he's able to, at least at a level someone who had the past he did should.
I hope he finds something to make him happy other than a bottle.

And now football365.com reports Gazza is NOT going to St. Pauli! ("No, I'm not making this up!" - D. Barry)

As revelation breathes a sigh of relief...

    Excellent!

We should now have a contest to see where he'll turn up next!

    I pick Kaiser Chiefs.

    Why doesn't he just retire?

It really is sad to see him doing this.

Gansu Tianma's Zhong said Gascoigne had weaknesses.

"We noticed he has two shortcomings; one is his physical fitness, another is leg strength," Zhong said.

I can't believe we missed out on the chance to sign him.

Noting your humor, I can't believe we ever even discussed signing him. Sad.

    Gascoigne as "spiritual leader?" Huh?

Alcohol used to be referred to as 'spirits' or something, right?

    Then it all makes sense.

Not to belabor the point, but you really have to feel bad for the guy. He has some very serious problems.

This column in Sunday'sObserver illustrates, in painful detail, Gazza's condition. Hudson has been quoted on his time here in the article.

    Very, very, sad.
