Yes, he's at it again. From the Capitol Lounge all the way to... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/2658657.stm China! Boy, and I thought he was havin' trouble when he was lookin' for a job in Malta. Now he's gotta beat out 1Bn Chinese for a job. Good luck, Gazza! You can do it! -G. Rex
I don't think he could handle it over there. Tsing Tao, that is the worst beer ever made. Maybe they can put something in his contract that Guiness will be flown in daily.
Actually, Irish Bars are very popular in China right now. When I was last at the Guinness brewery, they talked about the amount being exported to East Asia. Not as much as goes to DC to fulfill certain moderator's habits but enough to give Gazza some hope...
It's sad to me.. It's obvious he wants to play beyond the time he's able to, at least at a level someone who had the past he did should. I hope he finds something to make him happy other than a bottle.
And now football365.com reports Gazza is NOT going to St. Pauli! ("No, I'm not making this up!" - D. Barry) As revelation breathes a sigh of relief... -G. Rex
Latest update. Someone's willing to take a chance: http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-gascoigne&prov=reuters&type=lgns That's a far cry from the Premiership...
Gansu Tianma's Zhong said Gascoigne had weaknesses. "We noticed he has two shortcomings; one is his physical fitness, another is leg strength," Zhong said. I can't believe we missed out on the chance to sign him.
Not to belabor the point, but you really have to feel bad for the guy. He has some very serious problems. This column in Sunday'sObserver illustrates, in painful detail, Gazza's condition. Hudson has been quoted on his time here in the article. Very, very, sad.
