No big surprise of course, but yep, I called it:

I don't want to hear about how MLS teams can't beat the best Liga MX teams because of the roster rules. Come one, Miami has Messi, Suarez, Alba, and Busquets! And some highly rated young internationals like Gomez, Redondo, and Farias. And, come on, Cade Cowell is starting for Chivas. There isn't that much difference between the rosters. And MLS teams have been in 4 of the last 6 finals and won one of them (Seattle). If MLS teams are at such a disadvantage, how are they making it to the finals more often than not :thinkingemoji? It's just become the go-to excuse for any MLS team that loses to a Liga MX team.

Oddly enough, I didn't hear any discussion of a MLS roster rules disadvantage relative to Liga MX after Miami won Leagues Cup last year. It was more like “See, with the GOAT, and Alba, and Busquets, we can beat anybody!”

Because they score just enough on the road to push them over the hump on AGG.

The Athletic just had an article about Cristiano Ronaldo in which they say the opposing fans in Saudi Arabia chant “Messi Messi Messi” in order to PO Ronaldo, especially when Ronaldo is already PO’d.

Different stadiums with different capacities - not really an apt comparison…

Here's how shocked I am that San Jose isn't one of his potential destinations:

Not that I think he wouldn’t be good necessarily but I don’t think adding a 38-old player is the right move for us right now. That’s for an already good team adding a little more quality in big games, the way LAFC used Chiellini. We should be in build mode.
