At 25 of 29 “dysfunctional teams who will never win anything” the more pertinent question is maybe what teams is he *not* talking about.

2023 Quakes beat the Union head-to-head. Curtin is a sore loser.

He felt he was robbed and was lashing out. Still, I wouldn't have expected that of him.

P.S. Why does that team ALWAYS have the ugliest uniforms?

Hey @falvo, we are watching the Roma vs Udinese game. Why do all the players and the referee have this red swoosh across a cheekbone? At first I thought a player was bleeding, and then I noticed everyone had it. What does that mean?

This showed up in my google alerts and answered my question. It’s a campaign to end violence against women.

Yes there is a big push in Italy to combat violence against women.

A week or so ago, a 22 year old student who was just about ready to graduate was murdered by her ex boyfriend.

    So sad.....
Thousands rally in Italy over violence against women after Giulia Cecchettin's killing outraged the country

The slaying of 22-year-old university student Giulia Cecchettin, allegedly at the hands of her former boyfriend, sparked outrage across...

Remind me not to post, ever, on the referee board lest I get (incorrectly) mansplained. There was handling and dogso, but ok

Tyff you have been saying that for years!

Personally, I think Guido is a bad referee and I don’t understand how PRO does its ref assignments for the playoffs; I assume a lot of the assignments go to sycophants, since they don’t seem otherwise qualified.

So now there’s still a chance that I won’t be able to watch an MLS Cup final for the first time since 2014.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

Yep, definition of insanity. Clearly I need a better name, one that doesn't sound so female, if I want to post outside this board.

I was not impressed by Guido -- I thought he set the tone of the game early by letting too much physical stuff go uncalled, and then started buying every opportunistic flop. SKC was not doing well at any point, but that call was a game-changer.

Meanwhile, on the ref board, they were drooling over the black uniforms the referees were wearing!

About 10 years ago, my daughter went to Italy and brought us back two Serie A referee jerseys that were incredibly stylish.

Altho Houston were the better team tonight, I’m kind of sad to see SKC exit.

At least Houston Dynamo FC will be the away team next week regardless of who wins today’s Seattle Sounders FC - Los Angeles FC game, so that’ll hopefully make it harder for Dynamo FC to make it the final and prevent me from watching it.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

So you'll watch the final with LAFC?

If LAFC or Seattle make the cup, I'm cheer Cincinnati or Columbus.

LAFC and Seattle both look better than SKC and Houston did, and all look better than what I saw of the Eastern games, which, since I went to the beach, was not a lot

This game has the warhorse ref crew. Which tells me how MLS views this game

    I suppose so… I did last year. ;)

In such a scenario, Cincinnati would currently be the only team of those four that I’d have no problem cheering on for the final (there were even some Columbus fans included among the trolls I referred to here :(). :)

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

I havent ventured out there yet, occasionally I'll poke into the Houston or SKC boards... and I attempted to spam the TFC board but got bored talking to myself.

However I fear if I venture into the dark zone.... I'll get super banned asap LMAO

Not that the Quakes have great forwards either, other than Espinoza, but...lots of crappy forward play in these games tonight. Too many guys with great chances taking way too many touches and blowing the opportunity - Baird - terrible, Pulido - horrible. It's like they've been taking finishing lessons with Jebo.

Then, Russell - lousy touch, Carrasquilla - hopeless, Bassi - useless, Leo Chu - awful, Oliveira - useless, Ruidiaz - old and slow. At least 3 of Houston's front 4 are pretty toothless - Baird, Carrasquilla, and Bassi. Only Quinones looked decent tonight. The midfield and outside backs carry Houston. Hector Herrera was the best player in either game.

Only forwards who looked at least decent tonight were Bouanga and Jordan Morris. But a total of 2 goals scored in the two games....sad. Almost nobody can make a play in the box.

I knew SKC was done when they started bringing in the dinosaurs - Zusi, Roger Espinoza, etc. Peter, it's not the 1980's anymore! At some point you have to let go of the past. I think same applies to a lesser extent to Lodeiro and Ruidiaz. Yes, once they were great players. Not so much anymore. Let it go, Schmetz. And every Seattle game we have to hear the commentators prattle on about this incredible firepower Seattle has on the bench.

Houston's crowds still seem to be kind of mediocre and relatively quiet even though they have a good team. There was no comparison in crowd energy between Seattle and Houston. But so happy to see all of those Seattle fans go home unhappy, and not to have to see that crap plastic pitch again this year. Good riddance!
