this just seemed like a bad idea from the word go. is it still scheduled to be in the fall next year?
Everyone signing better players, and we're stuck with Chivas Rejects https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...lkeeper-carlos-coronel-loan-red-bull-salzburg https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...ed-negotiations-sporting-cps-bruno-gaspar-tom https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021/02/25/report-austin-fc-sign-defender-zan-kolmanic-nk-maribor https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...ew-sc-set-sign-romanian-midfielder-alex-matan https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...d-interested-bringing-luciano-acosta-back-mls https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...-bjorn-johnsen-why-he-came-home-mls-extratime https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...fender-stuart-findlay-scotlands-kilmarnock-fc https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...inked-river-plate-forward-rafael-santos-borre https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021/02/24/inter-miami-sign-brazilian-midfielder-gregore-bahia
Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon charged with rape https://www.espn.com/soccer/boca-ju...niors-winger-cristian-pavon-charged-with-rape He played for LA on loan and LA is trying to sign again.
as if waiting four full years isn't enough. I wonder if these will all be climate controlled venues with roofs or if it's cool enough in Qatar (in the winter ) to play outdoors? either way, having to wait several extra months sucks. Sure hope the USMNT makes it this time. Looks like their first qualifier isn't until Oct of this year, from what I can tell.
Honestly don't care. I'm not watching the 2022 FIFA Worker's Abuse and Slaughter Cup. I'll wait for 2026 edition of the World Cup.
Yup, terrible to hear about the exploitation of the workers and the dangerous work conditions, etc. definitely casts a dark shadow over events. I just can’t imagine skipping a WC, the worlds best players on the worlds biggest stage, particularly if my teams (England, USA, Anguilla) are in it.
Correction, looks like qualifying for USMNT starts in September... https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2...-us-soccer-world-cup-qualifying-schedule-2022 ...for those interested.
One day closer to this Death Cup. @ussoccer @USMNT @MLS teams, players, sponsors still silent, clearly on board with this slaughterfest. How much longer will they ignore the giant elephant in the room? Every day of silence = more lives lost. pic.twitter.com/SoObRT0Dda— San Jose Ultras (@SanJoseUltras) March 5, 2021
without having done any research, admittedly, has FIFA stepped in to address safety issues for workers building these sites?
https://www.theguardian.com/global-...grant-worker-deaths-qatar-fifa-world-cup-2022 That’s a staggering number, working in that extreme heat is deadly for these kids, this all sounds appalling and FIFA not stepping in to ensure better safety...this looks worse than I had realized.
You want research? I did a lot of it back in 2018 for my soccer movie review website. FIFA of course went with a favorable report that sanitized their hands. https://soccermoviemom.com/slavery-2018/
Speak of the devil, look who is back playing internationally! Zlatan Ibrahimovic: AC Milan striker recalled by Sweden Sweden's record goalscorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been recalled to the national team, five years after announcing his retirement.
He is an older player at 31, but I wish we were in the hunt to get this guy. He is a very good player in my opinion, Minnesota will be lucky to get him. He and Langsdorf would be very good partnership I believe. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...d-interested-boca-juniors-striker-ramon-abila
Minnesota's current forward dearth is actually quite amazing. They must have a lot of confidence in Langsdorf and Agudelo. They need to make at least two moves at that position, pronto.
I thought we cornered the market on dearth. To the point where we should be called the San Jose Dearthquakes.
