You mean because something like this would happen? And for the record, it came out later the woman who dropped him, was let go from her position. Meola and Oshoniyi were the other very portly men.
Well, considering we were volunteers and weren't paid back in the Spartan Stadium days, being let go wouldn't have been terribly damaging. Paradoxically, working for the Quakes was way more fun back before we got paid...
Andrew Tarbell was named to the Team of The Week. Nick Lima on the subs bench. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...d-defenders-shine-after-snapping-skid-week-19
Nashville beating Dallas tonight is helpful, but if the league decides to go with points per game, the Quakes are barely above the line for playoffs. They need to win some games down the stretch. If they need a result in the last game in Seattle, well I’ve already seen that movie last year in Portland and a few years back in Dallas.
Agreed - barely making or missing the playoffs the last weekend of the season is a rerun that has grown stale here. In a league with such a generous playoff funnel (i.e. almost every year at least half the teams are in) for us to have qualified a grand total of THREE years out of TWELVE is totally unacceptable. It shows just how unimportant the quality of the product on the field is to our owner, and just how little he cares about the fans. Our loyalty is undeserved, underserved, and unappreciated by an ownership that cares only for the growth of its investment.
Strong vibes of Stahre and Alashe https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...exchange-franco-jara-no-one-takes-it-personal
I really really like Luchi as a head coach. He's learning still, but he's ambitious and a risk taker. He isn't afraid to mix his lineup and formations up. He makes risky offensive subs and sometimes they pay off. I like that a lot. He also isn't afraid to take heat from people. The fact he demands respect from his big DP, sets a good example to the young players no matter who you are you must show respect other wise GTFO.
No, Alashe was trying to make him realize he was screwing with his career and was pleading with him to leave him alone!
He grabbed Alashe by the arm as Alashe was trying to walk by him to sit on the bench. Here it is. Here is the whole Stahre/Alashe sequence. Unreal. #MTLvSJ pic.twitter.com/5vfXWQZ82R— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) July 15, 2018
I just wanna say, watchout for the MLS-Vet heavy roster in Nashville, they are quietly getting momentum and climbing the standings. They could get hot at the right time and catch fire. They are a bit of a sleeper team, and the visions of Gary Smith are starting to come together. They are quite entertaining to watch. They play a very good 4-4-2.
Yep, and they have quite an interesting squad. The game vs New England tonight will be a good test for them. The youngest guy on the bench is Jack Maher whos quite good, and they are bringing him along well. He's 20. Most of the core team is 23-27, then some guys 27-34. Just a good solid roster with 1 good addition could be a very good team. Even Godoy has calmed down a bunch with his reckless tackles. He's only got 3 cards this year in 15 games vs 8 with us last year in 15 games. Dax McCarty usually starts but they've been platooning him with Anunga in the middle of the park. I personally think if they can locate a good quality DP striker they'd be very dangerous but as I said, if they catch fire at the right time down the stretch here they could be a very good sleeper team. I always liked Gary Smith as a coach, the Rapids haven't been the same without him and that was 10 years ago. Not sure what the general consensus for him here is, but I would at one point have liked to see him get a chance at the Quakes when he was available, even before Kinnear and Starhe.
Oh ok, now that I watch both of the incidents, I SEE WHAT YOU MEAN! The Quakes are such great role models.
