1964....that's the historic collapse of record... you get the old grumpling farts calling up howard to complain, that's because in their youth, they were, forever, tramautically damaged...
And that's two years in a row that they've teased us right down to the last weekend. It's so easy to go back and look at the many 'should have wons' that the Phils left on the table. Especially early in the year. Win one more game in each of the first four months of the season, and they're thinking about playing next week.
this team hasnt won anything in 13 years ... I dont get teased cause I dont think theyll win. the recent history made me that way. when you have no outfielders (Rowand injured down the stretch) a sub par third baseman and catcher and inconsistent pitching at best...you cant really expect anything.
At least as the Phillies' postseason hopes expired, a former Charge alumni punched her ticket to the big-time this afternoon. England's women's NT qualified for next year's World Cup in China - the one with Kelly Smith on it. If anybody deserves a place at the table in the biggest stage in women's sports internationally, it's her. Finally. If you're a refugee Charge fan on here, take a moment to raise a virtual toast to Smith. She remains my favorite Charge player. Now let's get a USWNT-England friendly at the Linc in 2007!
good luck trying to convince Jeffrey Lurie and the Eagles...according to them there is no room for soccer at the linc anymore.
what a joke that is. February to August there is NOTHING going on at that place. What a load of horsepiss
see this is why i am so excited about the comcast center. i think because it's going to be taller it might break the jinx that liberty place put on the leagues that approved the crappy owners and team presidents the four pro teams have had, except for the current eagles administration and pat gillick.
My solution is just to take the statue of Penn off of City Hall and move it to the top of the Comcast Center when it's done.
*gives rep to OKT* There were 5,469 at the HDC for today's USWNT clubbing of Taiwan, 10-0. If not the Linc, then Villanova Stadium. They'd have a sellout, for once. The homecoming of not only Smith, but Heather Mitts, too. [Captain Picard voice]Make it so, US Soccer, dammit![/Captain Picard voice]
