oof. that reminded me of the hit Stevens laid on Lindros way back that killed his career.

hope this kid comes out of it better.

Yeah. Richards will not be suspended by the league. By the rulebook, it was a legal hit. Hopefully the kid fully comes back.

I'm glad the Yanks won the ALCS. Now, since I've been a Yankees fan since I was 7 and saw Reggie beat the snot out of the Dodgers, I can actually enjoy the demise of the Phils and feel ok about it.

Although I think MLB will call the series early out of mercy; it will be fun to see the Yanks will game 4 in Philly next Sunday, after the Giants destroy the Birds at the Linc earlier in the day.

Not so sure. Phils took 2 of 3 in The New Boogie Down this season.

    Anything is possible.

everytime someone posts something positive on this thread i fear the inevitable yankee sweep will be even more rape-like in its severity.

the umpire from game 2 of the ALCS will do the games and will feel bad for the blown calls against NY and make up for them by calling every pitch within 5 ft of the plate thrown by a yankees pitcher a strike.

I wonder how God will try to stop the Phillies this year? Last year, the driving rains weren't enough. I'm expecting hail and locusts.

This series is going to be so one-sided, Philadelphia will be forced to rename "Cheesesteak's" to "A-Rod's Minced D*ck", because every single person in the Delaware Valley is going to be eating it.

This will be my last post on the OPST until after the series. I was born on Long Island, and have been a Yankees fan my whole life. After seeing the Phillies win in 1980, I decided the Phillies were my NL club. They were a good team, and any team that wasn't the NY Mess was OK in my book.

After thinking it over, and doing some soul (or lack thereof) searching, I have made my decision. While I will be happy with either result in the Fall Classic, I cannot turn my back on the first team I ever cheered for in any sport. I wish it was any other team playing the Phillies in the World Series, so I could root for them. Alas, I cannot do that in good conscience. I will be rooting for the Yankees. I won't be attending any SoB World Series events, and I am genuinely sorry.

I look foreward to posting here again after the Series.

Either result? Good, get the heck out of here for bringing positivity in!
