Player's coaches in general, get garbage from there guys. For the most part, I know they're some exceptions.. but the guys that get the most from their players are complete c*nts. You knoe guys like Bellichik, Alex Fergusson, Tony LaRussa and Rich Kotite.
What name did you throw on the end there? I really think adding his name into that group is grounds for blasphemy.
I was at the home opener on Saturday. It was fun. Both teams looked a bit sluggish at times, but the Flyers grinded out a win and that's what matters.
Shocker, this: National Lacrosse League cancels 2008 season due to labor dispute. Bye bye, Philadelphia Wings, then. See you in '09.
Yeah, come to think of it. This statement is on the NLL website: "The National Lacrosse League has announced the cancellation of its 2008 season. The cancellation was triggered by the Professional Lacrosse Players Association's executive committee rejecting the league's last Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) proposal. "I would like to apologize to our fans, first and foremost", said NLL Commissioner Jim Jennings. "We are deeply disappointed that the PLPA's executive committee rejected our proposal without permitting all of the players to vote on the league's final offer. The offer included annual raises for all players in each year of the contract. Our owners made the best offer they could make while maintaining a sound business model". Jennings continued, "This marked the fourth time we have had to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement in the past seven years. Professional sports leagues cannot do business without the stability of a long-term collective bargaining agreement. We will use this year to improve not only our relationship with our players but to improve our overall business model."
Apparently, Philadelphia was considered for a 2008 WNBA expansion franchise. But it went to Atlanta instead. Other contenders were San Francisco/Oakland, Kansas City, Albuquerque, Denver and Atlantic City.
I can feel nothing but devastation based on this news. Alas, still no gashball in Philly. This does have me wondering what the name of the WNBA team in Philly could be. It seems they like to base them on the NBA team in the city. To go along with the 76ers, the team could be called the Dinner Fixers.
Hey, you all can trash the league, but they got the new TV deal with ESPN where they don't pay them to be on their air, and the fact there were a half-dozen cities that were interested in an expansion team proves to me the league isn't going away anytime soon. Just sayin'.
Eagles = Nextel. DONE. In other news, 12 hours until Kristen Bell (the former Veronica Mars) makes her 'Heroes' debut. Can't wait.
It's nice to see their breaking their unwritten rule of only visiting the college football powerhouses... it's time to give the also-rans some recognition.
