http://www.flatusyahu.com/2008/07/2...-are-willing-to-give-up-to-get-matt-holliday/ I agree with just about all but cheese steaks
Well, Asante Samuel pulled a hammy. Maybe Lito can feel a little less "disappreciated". Him fail English? That's unpossible!
"So if the Flyers make a deal with the Panthers for Jay Bouwmeester that opens some cap space and a spot or two up front, who wants to bet that Brendan Shanahan Brendan Shanahan winds up in Philly if the Rangers once and for all say no?" found here: very last para http://www.nypost.com/seven/07272008/sports/islanders/hey_19___islanders_should_tab_trottier_121760.htm?page=2 How could we get bouwmeester? I thought he was their up-and-coming d man? And a big hell no to shanahan. He is way to old and we don't need anymore wingers.
ok there, Jimmy Two Times! "I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers." oh, and the phillies offense sucks bawls, especially these past 2 games against the braves.
The who? The what? Could've sworn that the Chiefs beat the Raiders in the last AFL Championship in 1970!
I really don't want to be harsh to the fans of the Soul, but they are rather annoying. I'm going to be super-excited the day that Philly MLS brings home a championship, but I'm not going to pretend that EVERYONE will be as excited as I am. I've heard a parade of Soul fans talking about how important this SHOULD be to the city of Philadelphia, and I just want to scream, "Stop forcing this on everyone! Know where your sport ranks and get in line accordingly."
I don't believe the Soul fans are forcing the city of Philly to like them but to merely give them a chance. Just as MLS fans would like people to give soccer a chance and actualy watch a game b4 bashing it. I'd say at least 75% of Soul and AFL haters have not actually attended or watched a game. Once you watch it's easy to become hooked and if not, oo well. But either way Congrats to the Soul and the 3k or so fans who made the trek from Philly to New Orleans this weekend. While I am not a soul fan (Dragons all the way) I will more than likely attend the parade on Thursday.
I think I've said before that I've really tried to give it a chance on several occasions. In the end it just seems like something made to placate the ESPN-masses who need to have points scored every few seconds in order for something to be exciting. But, each to their own, I guess.
pathetic. I wouldn't expect one for MLS, and a non top tier fad league like the AFL certainly shouldn't be tying up traffic during rush hour for their title. It's ashame that the city is so desparate for a title that somehow arena football counts when lacrosse and indoor soccer didnt.
I just heard they are going from 6th & Market up to City Hall. An 8-block parade, that I've heard some say will draw 40,000+.
Wow. Philadelphians really are desperate for a parade. We probably should've had a parade when we found out we weren't the fattest city in America anymore.
