Forgive me if this has been covered already -- but what in heaven's name are the defending MLL champion Philadelphia Barrage doing without a home ground? I mean, there are stadia in the area from Princeton, N.J. to West Chester, from Doylestown to Newark, Del. which would be IDEAL for the team and not too expensive to rent for five or six games. WTF is going on here? Is the great Body By Jake Experiment at its nadir?

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that during the European Championship broadcasts the announcers are talking a lot about the NBA finals. I know why they are doing this, cross promotion of ABC's other tournament, but I think it is a good thing for other reasons, besides seeing that Tommy Smythe not only knows next to nothing about soccer, but other sports too.
Having announcers talk about other sports makes soccer seem more like a sport that belongs with the other sports that we watch and love and not some foreign visitor only watched by people out of the main stream (see WIP).

It's not just that they don't have a stadium; they don't have an ownership group, since the owners got kicked out of the league.

So the league is running them, and the league is going to run them in the way that makes most sense for the league. That's why they'll be playing their "home" games this year in towns that are being considered for expansion franchises next year. After which, they'll either get sold off to one of those cities or go back to Villanova.

If it wasn't Gordon, Lidge prolly would have blown his arm out trying to hear how much his fastball would echo through that stadium. It'll prolly happen sooner or later anyway. Good thing he's not as good as Willie Hernandez,

i think the phillies' FO really needs to trade our entire infield for that dan uggla guy. he can hit harder and farther than fatty r-ho, better defensively than chump utley, and can throw better and more accurately that that bum j-ro ...

You left out the rotating bum at third base situation that has existed since schmitty left.

Charlie Hayes, Dave Hollins, etc, etc.

Jamie Moyer has actually been dead for five years now. It's really just Cole Hamels in a wig.

When is this putrid Phillies team going to start hitting? This is rediculous how painful it is to watch this team struggling to score runs. Yuck!!!!

Will the Phillies just do all the fans a favor already and cut Kendrick. It's sickening to watch him pitch.

The Phils' offense is pathetic and disgusting.
I don't think they'll EVER be able to score 25 runs in a game.

wow, you guys are a tough crowd! haha, I'd say the team they have now rates pretty high if you rate them by the "phillies scale".

Not the front office and ownership side though, I'll concede that they're terrible.

They are certainly an aggravating team to watch though, but we're Philadelphia sports fans, we should be terribly used to that. It's been that way as long as I've been alive :p
