8th minute goal for Darmstadt against Gladbach. Could both promoted teams get their first win of the season on the same day? Edit: Right when I hit enter another goal. 10th minute for Darmstadt! 2-0!
An absolute atrocity is happening in Darmstadt. 3-0 lead, questionable call in the box, and the ref uses VAR to call a handball (debatable) and then issue a straight red (completely inexcusable). It wasn't fully clear the Darmstadt player contacted the ball with his hand, but the ref not only said he did but claimed he intentionally swiped it forward (it didn't go forward) and handed out a red for that. Darmstadt saved the penalty, but Gladbach has taken over a man up and it's 3-3 in the final ten minutes.
I'm not sure the ref saw it from the angle behind the goal where it looked like it there was a touch it was accidental.
Salernitana is getting torched at home by Torino. 2-0 before halftime and the goalie for Salernitana this year is our old friend Guillermo Ochoa.
The most underrated positive to having an antenna hooked up to my TV is being able to still watch things like MNF while AT&T internet is kind of down (I'm getting fluctuations between 17kbps and 420mbps download speeds) and they're "hoping" to have it working again within 17 hours.
Lille is holding a 1-0 lead over Olimpija near the end of second half stoppage time in a Conference League game that's being played today instead of tomorrow for some reason.
This Benfica v Salzburg match is on all the drugs so far. Salzburg drew a penalty in the 3rd minute but it was saved. Then, in the 13th minute, a bad bounce + unfortunate reaction led to a handball and red card against Benfica giving Salzburg another penalty which they converted to go up 1-0.
"I'm on the spectrum, and proud of it." ❤️ Wrexham's JAMES MCCLEAN discusses being diagnosed with autism. While worried it may be used as "ammunition," McClean got tested to "better understand" daughter Willow-Ivy, who is also autistic. Texas defender needed to dive arms out to block it. Get sent off but force a PK. SMU-w drew with Tulsa. I think the first non win on campus for all our teams in 16 games. Thx, Jay!
Mexico vs. Puerto Rico in W Gold Cup qualifying at Azteca. Houston's Diana Ordoñez just had a nasty scary injury from a head collision with a teammate and was carted off. Puerto Rico is up 1-0 from an early own goal
In Dublin at the moment and caught Ireland-Northern Ireland women at the Aviva. After a slow first 20 minutes Ireland took control to win 3-0 and put themselves in good position to get promoted to Division A of the UEFA Nations League. First time the Ireland women had played at the big stadium and they drew about 35,000. Support didn't seem dampened by their recent coaching drama. Tyler Toland who had been exiled from the squad by Pauw was named player of the match.
Half-time and all is well: Notts County 2-0 up Forest 2-0 down Wrexham 3-0 down McElhenney and Reynolds have probably already scripted Wrexham's last gasp 4-3 win. Notts County play Wrexham at home on October 28th and I'm going to be there.
Wrexham now need score 5 to win. Forest Green get one back at Notts. Forest Green get a second at Notts 2-2. Notts go 3-2 up. 4-2 4-3
We really struggled to hang on against the team that's 3rd from bottom. FG completely disrupted our midfield that's been dominant playing the type of football you see all the time in MLS. Wrexham lost 5-0, Crawley scored a last gasp winner.
