Mods, get rid of this if it's a duplicate thread, but I didn't see it anywhere, and lots of us were pining for a video of this earlier in the week.

go to http://mlsnet.com/special/mlscup/02/multimedia.html and then go to the KC 4-1 victory over LA and click on Albright's goal. The quicktime video pops up.

It is beyond hilarious. Fat Tony looked absolutely mystified.

Great. Now if only they would've put the three goals we scored against Dallas I'd be happy...

Just got back from a visit to lalagals boards. There the opinion on Albright is remarkably similar to ours: speed, hustle, no finish.

I still think the ball goes in the net because it was just too far away for him to kick the ball over the crossbar! ;)

That was a freaking great strike. IMHO, MLS goal of the year. He hit a fantastic chip just over Meola's head and a bit to what would have been Meola's right--if Meola had been properly in goal--and just under the crossbar. It was from within the center circle. Absolute masterpiece.

Say what you will about Albright, but let's not put down that goal, it was a thing of sheer beauty. Quick thinking and sublime skill.

    Fluke.

That's all I have to say about Albright's goal.

    ...

Oh, and I guess there's one more thing, I do love to see Meatball made to look foolish.

Like Country Joe McDonald asked at Woodstock:

    Gimme an "F"
    Gimme an "L"
    Gimme a "U"
    Gimme a "K"
    Gimme a "E"

    Whatsthatspell?
    Whatsthatspell?
    Whatsthatspell?

Now c'mon all you big strong men,
    Dump on Albright
    Again and again.
    C'mon people don't hesitate,
Jump on Albright, it's not too late .....

    :D

[watch him score on the bloody kickoff coming up in four minutes]

Never, EVER thought I'd see GM reference Country Joe without the phrase "hippie jackass" in there somewhere...

The only comment I have regarding the Albright goal:

When did KC join the A-League?

Is that Albright's first MLS goal? Or his second?

First off, most of us at the LA Riot message board really don't care much for Albright. Nice guy, lackluster soccer.

That said, the KC goal truly is MLS goal of the year. Screw headers and bicycle kicks... this was pure Count Chocula (and we all remember how good that was).

By the way, try to avoid the message boards at LAGALAXY.COM. They are an embarrasment. Please got to www.lariotsquad.net. However, it is not for kids.

I agree. You don't see many shots like that, anywhere on any level, and when players have the balls to shoot it, it's not an easy shot to put it in in the air (because a bounce would alert the unattentive keeper) but under the crossbar.
