I run the website for my daughter's U9 travelling team. I have designed two possible logos for the team, please go to the site and vote for one, this logo will be with them for the next 9 years. I appreciate your time. www.kirkwoodgirls.com
So have you guys won anything? And if so, does the star in the logo count?.....ooops, wrong thread. Dump the ponytail star.
The OLD LOgO!!! It mUSt BE ThE OLd LOGO!!! The NEw LOgo StinKS!!! It LOOks LikE a FIREbiRD LoGO frOM tHE 70S!!!!! ....ooh, wait a minute....where am I?
Something to think about when coming up with logos... just what are you going to put them on? I was involved in another group that ended up putting their logo on various items... web sites, printed material, and clothing. There are some considerations depending where it's used. No problem on web sites, not much on printing, but on clothing, it's important. Silk screening and embroidered patches were used. For sure the number of colors in the logo affects the silk screen pricing. I don't remember on the embroidery. Looks like the Medal of Freedom logo is three colors and the ponytail logo is two (discounting the shading). Sometimes a color-reduced or single color version of a logo is used when silk screened onto clothing because of the price. If that's an issue, choosing a design that still looks good in "black and white" is helpful. The one advantage of the Medal of Freedom logo is it should be instantly identified with soccer if no other context is available.
United actually won the voting, but we couldn't use it because another team at the club already had the name. The club has a one name policy meaning that its 18 plus rep teams must have different names, much to my disappointment
I'm with Knave on the ball orientation, and add this comment: the kerning between the F and R in FREEDOM is too loose. I understand (I think) that you want to center the "KIRKWOOD" over the middle of the lower word, but I'd track the "REEDO" to balance the spacing. Nice use of inspiration, and some very good comments about the one-color use for (lower cost) silkscreening and printing. It's those collateral uses that will kill your budget! Good luck in the comming season. dadman
And you didn't go with the other obvious alternatives: FC Kirkwood SC Kirkwood Kirkwood AC International Kirkwood Hertha Kirkwood Kirkwood Hotspurs (although you might have burst into flames with this one...) Kirkwood Rovers et al... And Knave, it should be YELLOW Star Kirkwood...
Right. Knave is always getting me into trouble. How about Gold Star Kirkwood, it has a nice ring to it.
Doesn't Kirkwood SC have a logo? I've been to the Kirkwood complex a few times to ref the Region 1 premier league stuff, and I could swear the club has some kind of logo already...
Isn't Kirkwood the house brand of items at Costco? They make my toilet paper, dude. Maybe you should approach Costco for sponsorship deals. We need a uniform sponsor! (Maybe I am in the wrong thread too.)
Ummmm, yea, stop messing with his head! I know that he lives in B-more, but stop with that ESP Mind Control experiment already...
