Benzema basically played on the wing for a good chunk of this game. He was drifting extremely wide to get the ball and Bale was then coming to the center.

Jovic could play with Benz if they played like that, though I'm not sure it's a good idea as there would be less tracking back.

 

Amazing victory, Osasuna is an excellent defensive team this season.

World class from Isco and Casemiro today. Single handedly dragged us to an advantage position where Modric, Benz etc. were able to make a difference at the end.

Despite the assist, really quiet and forgettable game from Fede. He has set such high standards for himself that when he has a meh game like this, it really stands out.

Ultimately, what a fun game to watch. It was thoroughly enjoyable stuff from start to finish.

 

He went overboard but I wouldn't say Bale is a player on your own team. More like he's a guy who just happens to be there and collecting paychecks. Leaving every game early, not even trying to play. Bale is trying his hardest not to get picked for games.

 

Fun fact: Lucas Vazquez now has the same amount of goals as Joao Felix in La Liga.

Benz might be superior at this point but, we need a 9 to play upfront not on the wing, we have Hazard, Vinicius, Lucas, Isco, Rodrygo, Brahim, Gareth , even James if necessary, why do we need a 9 who can “play on the wing”? , that’s part of Benz’s problem IMO, the requirement of a 9 that can play on the wing is irrelevant if you ask me
