WE ACTUALLY WON A GAME! What a miracle we have witnessed. Allow me to go call the local news. Of course, we committed 14 fouls, were outpossessed 55-45, and lost on both total passes and passing accuracy. But finally having our defense stiffen up to enable a clean sheet is good. Sunday night, we host DC United. How energized will the Lions, and the supporters, be coming off such a big road win?
Can someone confirm why Orlando City dont have any games fixtured between June 1st and 27th - we are coming for our annual holiday and have always managed to catch an Orlando City match - its annoying no games are scheduled whilst we are over this year - i see the US Open Cup is being played by the regional teams - will game be drawn in this competition?
I turned on the Orlando City game on Sunday against Cincinatti in the 86th minute and there were very few fans in the stadium. Can anyone explain that? I thought their attendances were pretty good. What happened?
So as part of the development of their new training facility at Osceola Heritage Park, Orlando City has taken over Osceola County Stadium. The hypocrisy has been noted by many fans, with their criticism of the Rowdies and NYCFC. It seems the model is closer to the Rowdies model, as the plan is to redevelop Osceola County Stadium into a soccer-only facility. Apparently, OHP kicked out the Florida Fire Frogs. They spent $500,000 to buy out the remainder of their contract, and they will be elsewhere in 2020. Probably at the Braves' spring training facility in North Port, but that hasn't been finalized I don't think. So its days of hosting baseball are, at long last, history after dying a protracted death since the departure of the Astros as its Spring Training tenant. While the rendition provided by OHP does have scaling issues, the orientation is doable, especially if they take down the outfield wall. The field will be redone with the same grass used at Exploria Stadium. Two of the three practice fields will have the same grass, with one artificial turf field to prepare for away dates on artificial turf. Orlando City and OCB are now moving in, with Orlando Pride to get free run of Sylvan Lake Park. The DA teams have been practicing there already, but still play games at Sylvan Lake, and will do so until modifications at Osceola County Stadium are complete. Apathy. That's what happened. The ownership doesn't care, so why should the fans?
Marcelo Neveleff expected to be named Orlando City B head coach Neveleff, who was hired in May as Orlando City’s academy director, previously worked as an assistant coach with the New England Revolution. https://www.prosoccerusa.com/mls/or...pected-to-be-named-orlando-city-b-head-coach/
For those curious about the Fire Frogs after they were kicked out of OHP, they're on the list for the proposed minor league snap. Most of those teams are A or lower, with the exception of four AA teams. No AAA teams are included on the list.
Orlando City has officially named Oscar Pareja their manager. The Colombian has been a coach for the past 15 years, and recently spent five years at FC Dallas before spending 2019 at Tijuana. He wasn't able to get traction in two half-year torneos, and departed by mutual agreement last week after months of speculation that Orlando was after him for their job. He left when the 2019 Apertura ended.
This has gone unannounced, but a brief video on OC's Twitter made me suspect something was up. Want to get your Home Opener Holiday Pack delivered by Christmas? Get your orders in by the end of Monday, Dec. 16th. #VamosOrlando— Orlando City SC (@OrlandoCitySC) December 13, 2019 (There should be a video attached to this tweet. You may need to look at it on Twitter. Click on its timestamp to go there.) The video was not clear, but there was definitely something different about Kingston. But we now have clarity. Kingston 3.0 has arrived. It’s a beautiful purple morning! 💜 Today from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. make sure to stop by our Main Terminal tree for a photo op with the one and only - @OrlandoCitySC official mascot, Kingston! #VamosOrlando 🦁 pic.twitter.com/JNN6t6voac— Orlando International Airport (@MCO) December 19, 2019 When the original USL Pro Kingston was changed to the original MLS form, I was one of its loudest critics, proclaiming it "NegaKingston" due to its trip into the Uncanny Valley. The change was such a jarring departure, that many supporters joked about guessing how many children he would make cry. The team obviously decided that they needed to make Kingston cartoony again, while maintaining the themes they wanted to introduce with its MLS form. Honestly, if this was what we got instead of the last one, I think it would've been accepted much more readily by USL era fans. Of course, now people who don't know the original Kingston are chuckling at how cartoony he's become.
