Ooijer is the better playmaker, and van Persie really earned his spot. And against a tigth defense we might need van Persie's creativity.

I expect Kuijt to be brougth on later.

Yep, Robben is pretty fired up.
    Holland looks sharp.

I hope John Harkes gets laryngitis.

Good first half. Midfield is really dominating and the back line has handled the number of chances S&M have had. Would like to see Van Persie as involved in the 2nd half and Robben was in the first because his few touches were definitely great. Also Robben's one weakness in the first was the cross: it seemed that they all went too deep and were easy for their goalie to gather.

from what i can see i dont think the nertherland has the quality to beat teams like argentina, brazi , england and such. their touches are just mediocre. iam not impressed at all by the display of this team. it's simple mediocre and that's not a good thing at this world cup. i hope they show better talent for the second half.

dont get me wrong i am supporting them, but they just not showing the good quality of football they usually play, and i am expecting more from van nistelroy than that. i think they have the ability to pull up their good at the second half. and let's keep it a lil civil in here please.

Off and running with three points!!

Strong opening for Oranje who dominated possession as always.

The only negative would be not scoring more, and inparticular I thought that Sneijder, and Robben lost the ball too much, but Robben was very dangerous throughout.

Fortunately the Serbs had little in the way of cutting edge, and overall the Dutch were the better side.

Now Marco and his staff need to study the Ivory Coast. A good idea would be to pepper their keeper who was terrible yesterday.

    Go Holland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    100% Oranje!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad 100% disagrees, but I think the Dutch looked pretty poor. Robben did very well, but I would have liked to see the oranje try attacking through someone else. Sneijder seemed off, I wonder if Raffie will get the nod next game. Ruud was great again. I think the dutch will do better vs argentina. I think they may have trouble with the Ivorians' speed though.

Keep in mind they took it easy because of the heat.
Our next game will be at 6PM which means cooler temps

Try coming up with a more profound substantiation and a little research wouldn't hurt you either. This is the first match where the points are the most important thing to gather. Second, not getting injured/getting cards. As a third you can put some emphasis on aesthetics on the field.

It's odd that you started about first touches as the ballcontrol was excellent. The passes were accurate and the ball flowed fluently and frivolously. When we were disposessed we seemed nervous in the back but I also saw eagerness to regain the ball back. Taking into account that this was our first match in an even hotter day against a team with (one of) the best defences in the tournament I think it's save to say that we can somewhat be pleased with both result and gameplay (bar the defence)
