    1. Any idea where the ESC is sitting for the match. I'm going to buy my ticket at the stadium and I would like to know where I'm moving to once I get in.

    2. where in the parking lot are we all meeting?

    just asking....

I don't need a lift, but if anyone needs one and can get to Queens, I can take a couple people out there (PM me for more info if you are interested)

We're working on a section, but as this double header is officially a Power event, it may not be until early next week that we have word. Patience.

    Public transportation?

Has anyone ever taken public transport from Manhattan out to Mitchel? Any information/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    2. not a lot of room, I can take 3 (4 if you really can squeeze in, I have a 96 ford escort)

    Re: Public transportation?

According to www.nypower.com, shuttle buses will run between the Mineola LIRR station and Mitchel Field from 5:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Wed., 8/7.

Trains from either Penn Station or the Flatbush Ave. LIRR station out to Mineola are pretty frequent. The Mineola station is no more than about 10 minutes from Mitchel Field.

I just checked the LIRR map and schedule. The Mineola route combined with the Mitchel shuttle is the answer for those of us who are without wheels.
You can catch the train at Penn Station and a couple of other stops on the way to Mineola.

Like PSUdude, I'll be buying myh ticket at the gate.
I called NY Power, and the $17 ticket gets you stadium seating, whatever that means. Probably have to sit in the assigned area/seat during the Power match; maybe we Metro faithful can gather in one section for our OC match. Chances are the late start will send a lot of the PowerMoms home with their kids, leaving the place to (mainly) us.

The Power site does say the shuttles will be available back to Mineola till around midnight.
The match should be over by 11:30 or 11:45.

At least we won't have to play on a gridiron like
    Real Madrid and Roma!

    another question...

I was planning on leaving my car in Newark and driving from there to the Mitchell after work. Has anyone driven out there from Jersey? Is it a nightmare?
Should I just take the train?

    Re: another question...

I would leave at least 2 hours to drive from Newark to Mitchel Field during rush hour on a Wed.

if you dont wanna see the power game. I am holding a Futsal tourney in the parking lot. if you wanna come you are welcome to. Its gonna be 3 on 3(no goalie) and there is only one rule. the one with the most points after 10 minutes wins. The winner gets a free 6 pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade. Peace. We need atlest a minimum of 8 teams. Just PM me for details.

Is there a chance this game might sell out? Between power and metro fans i'd say its definately possible. So if they turn me away after driving to freaken long island, i'm gonna reek some havok.

Unlikely they will sell out. Really unlikely. But if that happens, you could still see most of the field through the fence from the parking lot and it won't cost you.

considering that it's a midweek game and that the Power is apparently out for the team (nyuk, nyuk)...I'd say it's a good chance there will be tickets available....
