If we could get Guler to actually play we could have used him for that role and rest Jude completely. Really hope Ancelotti doesn't have this team burn out by February..
Good luck with that. Carlo's history usually show he makes great starts, then fades towards the end, and the way he usually win the league is if he has enough points lead to absorb the inevitable burnout. Tells you why he is underwhelming as a league manager.
Agreed; he's very BAD at rotating and resting players. Sometimes I wonder if he think he's playing EA FC.
If you look at our League positions during the years, we're either good enough to hold the top spot for the entire season, or not at all. We fell from the number 1 spot 10-11 matchdays in last season and never came back. We don't really show much variation which over a decade shows that when we don't win the League title we simply weren't good enough for it. When we lead the League late midseason, it's usually a sign that we're good for it, when we're behind, we usually sit there. Until i see Guler with my own eyes making a contribution i don't count him as a playeron this roster this season at all.
I think the 2014/15 season will linger in peoples minds forever. Which was the exact opposite to what you’re describing.
Man that bar is super high, imagine winning the league in every major footballing country in Europe, and being considered an “ underwhelming league manager” because he didn’t do it the “right” way, whatever that is.
Considering his pedigree in Europe, he does underperform in the leagues. No need to have your panties in a bunch if what I said is true.
Lol, You are constantly confused, what I’d like to know is, who are these coaches constantly rotating their best performing players in and out of the team to have them fresh for the business end of the season, and when exactly is the business end of the season, I read this stuff constantly, I mean, in order to win trophies you have to win games, so, where is the business end, the start, the middle, the end, which bit, and again which manager at which big club is randomly changing the squad around every two or three games so that players can be “fresh”, Is it Kane or Kylian, or De Bruyne, Salah, Trent, Bernardo, Rodri, Haaland, who are the players managers are forcing to sit so that they don’t get injured and therefore not be ready for the “business end of the season”.
Jude is now worth 180M€ according to transfermarkt..the same as Mbappe and Haaland...I imagine dortmund now thinking that they could ask for more...100M+ bonuses was a steal!
Sure, Carlo is the bastion of player rotations, gimme a break. All this to defend your untouchable. It's not only me whos pointed this out btw.
The coaches with huge League trophy hauls on their record started appearing in recent years when teams went 5 to 6 years completely unchallenged.
Thats not my point. Even Zizou managed to rotate Ronaldo. I'm not talking rotating playes every other game either. No one can say with a straight face that Carlo is isn't on the extreme spectrum side of running his starters to the ground.
CIES football observatory rates Jude Bellingham to have the highest transfer value in football right now, at a cool €268 Million. Saying "paying €103 million for him is good business" is a gross understatement. The third and fourth highest transfer values go to Vini Jr and Rodrygo. Well done, Uncle Flo and Sanchez!
