Hold on. Did she NOT book O'Hara for that tackle just outside the area??? I guess she's consistent, but wow.
Tancredi could have been off for that. Well, in a different game she could have been off for that. No harm here and surprised the foul got called.
For the record, my online feed is a little behind. When I said she could have been off, I meant the 6th foul, not the 7th. But 7 fouls in 105 minutes... sounds like PI to me.
Frank Isola of the NY Daily News is tweeting that the AR lifted her flag on the hand ball penalty kick call (he's at the game).
If true, that's interesting. But it did seem like Pedersen reacted relatively instantaneously. So maybe the AR was trying to help sell the call. Will have to go back and look again once this is all over.
Again, different match, Wambach could be off for that (despite what the commentators say). If this is La Liga, she's gone. In any top men's match, that's at least yellow.
Well now it's Rugby League in the center circle now. How did this lady in the middle get this assignment ??
To be fair on this most recent one with Scott, they both lunged awkwardly and came together at the knees. Foul, yes. But I'd be hard-pressed to view that as misconduct when they both essentially did the same thing. I accept that others might disagree. Regardless, the overall tenor of the match and what's going on is totally on the referee. This could have gone so differently.
Hit by the ball from 20 yards? This is turning into a Monty Python/Benny Hill type of refereeing skit.
Would have been very ironic if a US pass, deflected off the ref, to Canada resulted in a goal. How the heck did she let herself get hit there?
