It slowed down there at the end of the half, but I still feel a bit bad for Panama. You never want to be the team that has to play the US after they've had a bad game. You don't want to face a US team that feels it has something to prove.
Panama is playing a BAD offside trap but for the last 2/3 of the first half the US fell for it over and over. You do NOT beat a trap by staying even you beat a trap by making runs, often diagonal, from one or two meters onside. That way the defense cannot trap by just taking one step. In fact traps are often broken by runs out of the midfield while the forwards just hold their position. The US needs to adjust if they want to run the score.
I felt right at the time that Panama's goalie should be taken out of the game. Terrible decision by the coach. I hope she'll be OK.
Sounds about right. And most of them were good chances, too. So good job on chance creation, I guess?
There does seem to be a few dozen more people than there were Tuesday. Maybe it is because tomorrow is not a weekday. Although Saturday is a day of the week.
