    hey guys-

just starting this for next week ... i'm super anxious to see how things develop and am looking forward to seeing team canada back in action.

all of canada's games will be broadcasted on sportsnet (either live or on tape-delay depending on your region ... check local listings) ... any coverage in the states???

I heard that all of the US matches won't be broadcasted, this offcourse makes the perfect score 2-0 after non of men qualifying matches were broadcasted recently, thanks USSF !!!!!

i wonder how the haitians feel/frame of mind considering all the turmoil going on in their country right now ... hopefully all their familes/friends are safe etc. sometimes a soccer game does seem "minimal" when you compare it to stuff like that ...

ps- check the US-T&T thread in the US forum for pics from that game

I wonder what Dominguez did in extra time to merit a caution? That really could affect the team if she gets another in the USA game, as the Tricoloras would probably have very little chance against Canada without her...

    canada-jamaica half time score:

    can 2- jam 0

canada lots of chances but not getting the final ball in and/or finishing ... very lack luster IMHO.

latham scored first goal and hooper scored off PK

    can-jam final

    final: canada 6 - jamaica 0

goals: sinclair (3), latham, hooper (pk) and moscato

just a thought ... but all 3 games thus far in costa rica has had a hat trick from one player ... perez for mexico, boxx for usa and sincy now for canada ...

Christine Sinclair by far the best player in the game. I think Tancredi will be ok, just what's needed in defense. Disapointed with Hermus, she should stay away from defending. Karina, her usual fumbles, not my choice por keeper.

    Mexico 8 - Trinidad & Tobago 1
    US 8 - Haiti 0

So US still has the goal differential lead and that means Mexico would have to win to take 1st in the group.

looks like Mexican women have improved dramaticaly since friendly against Canada prior to WC2003, watch out Canada and US , they might steal one of the spots.

Here is a paragraph that was towards the US Soccer article on the US-Haiti game:

"Mexico's big win over a drained T&T team featured three goals from star Maribel Dominguez, two from Patricia Perez and one each from Juana Lopez, Iris Mora and Alma Martinzez. All of Mexico's goals were stylish and well taken. T&T got some solace from a 41st minute penalty kick by Tasha St. Louis."

the canada-panama game is going on right now, but no clue what the score is as the CSA scoreboard is still stuck on the jamaica game ... it should be over in 30 mins ...

the game will air on tv @ 4pm and i will be doing a PBP of the game over at gobigred.ca for those interested in the canada-panama game.

    halftime:

    canada 3 - pamama 0

goals from: latham, jamani and neil

panama came out gunning but lost steam 15 mins in ... franco their keeper has a right shoulder injury, and i hope she will be ok, cause they need her to stay in.
