been a while since talk of a OKC team name, and there were a couple mentions a couple months ago, so... Name the Oklahoma City expansion team...
I think I remember Wallydrag or someone had a green and white OKC crest... it looked pretty good...if you're around Wally (or whoever), could you post it again? Thanks...
There ya go. By the way, the oil derrick's there because The Barons is after the oil barons back in the early part of the century.
Gotsta agree... We had terror rip us up, we responded better than any city who's faced such a disaster, and we're healing. NTM Bombers sounds much more intimidating than Stampede or Barons...
1. Most people won't see it the same way you do. 2. You'd have to answer to Midwest City High School about the nickname.
I really like "Outlaws." Barons would be my second choice, especially if they go with the green and white color scheme suggested by wallydrag's crest.
Pulled the above ones from an old thread to do a poll... you can vote other, so why don't you contribute something then to the thread, instead of mindless garbage.... you are from the OKC area after all...
1. Screw 'em. Its the truth. 2. Well, if we ruffle feathers with the MWC School Board, screw me. These people are - of course - the highest form of humanity walking the face of the earth, so we shouldn't dream of offending them. 2. (part b) Why would a school district care about their mascot name being used as a pro team? Lets look at a few schools around the area to see where their names are used... PC Pirates (MLB) PCW Patriot (NFL) PCN Panthers (NFL) Norman Tigers (Tigers = overused name) NNHS Timberwolves (NBA) Moore Lions (NFL) Westmoore Jaguars (NFL) ...and so on, as this is just a list of teams I remember frequently playing in HS sports. I doubt that Crooked Oak got into a tizzy when the NASL Roughnecks came about (much less the drinking buddies w/ Schooner and guns in Norman...)
I'm pretty sure that any new I/O of an OKC team is not going to want to piss people and "screw 'em". Truth or not, it ain't gonna happen.
