Well it's Tuesday noon thirty and no news on Henry on either MLSNET.com or DCUNITED.com. Is no news good news? On a side note, seems like Chino will be playing for the Kansas City Wizards against Rochester. I thought we learned our lesson about loaning out players.
Nevermind - just read it on DCU Let's see - KC got into a heated battle with Rochester in their last game, rather than risk having one of their players hurt they ask other teams around the league for players, to Rochester players they are KC players - Chino comes home in a body bag. Can we at least demand compensation in return - like the return of Armstrong for Zambrano?
Yeah, I remember things got pretty nasty. IF Chino were to go down to something serious(knock on wood) would the MLS compensate? Somehow I really doubt it. This smells bad.
Re: Re: Oh Henry, Where for art thou? The good news would be Henry stays put where ever the hell he is.
Re: Re: Re: Oh Henry, Where for art thou? The good news would be if Henry goes to KC and we get Armstrong back. On a side note, the picture associated with the Chino article is a classic, "Eddie Pope, Slamm'in it home!!!" TS.
\ I know. Who gives a rats ass if a KC player gets injured? Why should one of our guys be the sacrificial player? Edited to say that I just read the blurb on the website and I'm still appalled that we'd loan him out to another MLS team so that one of their players doesn't have to get hurt.
Zambrano flies in today, joins the team tomorrow apparently: http://www.dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=main&cont_id=124216 (end of 4th paragraph) "Another player who is expected to join in at training tomorrow is newly acquired forward Henry Zambrano. The Columbian international is flying into the District this afternoon and will make his debut in the #17 kit during Wednesday afternoon's training session."
Did a fourth grader write this 4th paragraph (not you Dop...you're clearly an educated man)? ColUmbian...flying into the District?
Oh you think I let Garber's email have it after the "light's out" fiasco against KC back in 2000. If one of our players get hurt playing for someone else and nothing comes of it "he won't be able to sit down for a week" as my parents used to say.
While I would help you in your efforts to scorch Garbers hard drive, I think that and 35 cents would get us a phone call.
Here is the link to the story: Chino Incredible! MLS should really think hard about the legal repercussions of doing things like that if a worst case scenario develops. Can we ask Real Madrid for Zidane for the game against San Jose on Saturday?
The players are employees of MLS so I'm pretty sure there are no legal ramifications. It's just rude.
Well so much for the [egg on my face]repercussions[/egg on my face]! Rampaging Rhinos KC & The Sunshine Band Chino got 90 minutes.
We want the Russian guy for Saturday. Fair is fair. Incidentally, if he needs game experience so much, why can't Hudson put him in instead of Lazo? Certainly couldn't be any worse.
I would definately agree that Hudson should throw Chino in instead of Lazo. I also think that Hudson should play all the youngsters and other players who need the games to get experience. I'm speaking about Curtis, Mapp, Chino, Quintanilla, Namoff, Convey (It's a stretch to say he needs the experience, but he's young so why not.)
World Cup 2002: MLS players: 5 goals, no red cards Henry: 0 goals, 1 red card Thierry Henry is not good enough to play in MLS. Dave
“Ferry” Zambrano no va al Pereira, se queda en la MLS El delantero costeño Henry el “Ferry” Zambrano no se vinculará al Deportivo Pereira y viajó a los Estados Unidos para unirse al DC United de Washington de la MLS. http://www.futbolred.com/default.asp?link=noticia&idn=20183 He is going to the MLS.
